I was smoking my problems while leaning against the wall after mom forcing me to meet Glen again to apologize.

And unfortunately that bitch used his connection and threatening me that he will talk to Mr. Vud to convince him to pull out from our deal.

It's not like Mr. Vud is just my only client but the thing is I hate to lose a money.

Now I'm obliged to have lunch with him and right now having the time on my own to think before he arrives.

"Bella?"  I look over my shoulder and of all the people that I can bump with, it has to be Erin and Daphne. Must be my lucky day.

"Hi" then ditched the cigar while watching Daphne judgy reaction.

As if smoking is the cause of climate change.

"Are you gonna eat alone?" She asked between checking inside the restaurant.

"No. I'm actually waiting for someone. My date"

She nodded before pulling a sweet smile like she always does "Oh, ok. See you inside then" and watch them heading to the reception area.

From the corner of my eyes, Glen is already walking towards me with that annoying cocking smile.

"Marian" he starts which is already setting me off mood.

As usual, he pulled the chair for me to sit before he walks around with that huge grin in his damn face.

"At least you know why you got punched" I say that causes him a smile while agreeing.

"and also for using Mr. Vud, that is so lame and shitty move but I know that you will not give me a chance"

I bit the inside of my cheeks while staring back at his sorry face.

I inhaled between smiling. "Isabella"

"Yeah and I see the same in you. That is why I think we're compatible" his confidence is making me chuckle "How about let's consider this like a business deal? I can offer a lot. I think we are going to be a great partner. We're both in business, stable income but I can offer wider connection, more engagement and influential people" I took a deep breath before reaching for the water but out of nowhere steady my gaze to Erin having lunch with Daphne.

"Ok hear me out before you punch me again. Your daughter needs a father figure Marian. Someone who she can lean on. We can be a normal family just like what your mom wants" my stern confidence washed off after mom being involved "she told me about her wish to see you being normal just like everyone else. Your mom is scared that Brielle might get bullied because she doesn't have a father but instead she might get pick by mean kids for having a 2 mother and that is why your mom wants to save your daughter before it happens. I stood up from the seat while digging my nails into my palm.

"I have a meeting to attend. Excuse me" then grab my bag.

I slammed the folder in the table then glared to all of them "what the hell is this?!" Everyone turned tense between dodging from my gaze "you're all fired" then stood from the seat.

"Ms. Bella" Crystal followed behind me out of the office "Ms. Bella wait"

"What?!" I say after turning to face her.

"We can't fire the whole team"

I crossed my arms while arching my brows "why's that?"

"How are we able to finish all the projects for this month? We still have a lot of proposals to do, a lot of meetings with the booked clients. How are we going to manage our time?"

"You're sounding incompetent. We can do it just like before Crystal" I sternly stated "there are just the two of us from the beginning remember?"

"But before, we don't have a lot of future clients" she reasoned out while I stared nonchalantly "Noted Ms. Bella. I will squeeze everything in one day" she surrendered "but I still get the vacation leave for next week right?"

What she says made me sarcastically chuckled "do you think we still have time for stupid vacation?"

".....it is my birthday and I already told you 4 months earlier because I have to fly back home to be with my family"

"Your choice Crystal but maybe you can consider staying there as much as you want? You know how much I don't like waiting when I can just look for someone to replace you" then turned around to walk into the direction of my office.

I don't have the stamina for exerting any emotion to react. I lost it a very long time ago, so I proceeded to walk my way.
