23| she's cold

Erin placed the cup of coffee in front of me before she opened the bottled water and returning it back to my laptop side.

"How's your blue print Ms. Lane?" I asked.

Brielle fell asleep after 5 minutes when the movie start and right now I'm sitting in the bar stool with my opened laptop to check some paper pending from my other projects.

"It's almost finish. I will send it tomorrow morning in your email" I nodded before grabbing the coffee to sip.

It's the same taste just like before.

"Brielle is really smart for a five year old girl" I look to my sleeping baby with a hint of smile after hearing it "she got a lot from you Bella"

"I supposed it's a good thing?" I asked in arch brows, tilting to her.

She let out a chuckle before sipping her coffee "she loved to draw" I lowly stated "if you have time, can you teach her? You know I don't have the talent for it"

"Of course even if you didn't asked for it" I nodded.

"Thanks" then starts to collect my things in the table "Viv will pick my daughter tomorrow here so we can revisit the beach to start. I hope we can avoid revisions to finish the project just in time" I closed my laptop and putting it back to my tote bag before hopping off the bar stool.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

I snorted to her stupid question "home obviously"

"But it's past midnight Bella. You can sleep in the guest room"

I walked towards sleeping bee to kiss her forehead and tell her how much I love her before heading to the door but looking back to Erin "Take care of my daughter or I will kill you" I say before exiting her place.

I answered Erin call in a very annoyed voice "what?" still in the parking lot.

"Bee suddenly woke up and she's looking for you right now" and heard my baby crying in the background while calling my name which slipped off my mind that it always took her days before she becomes comfortable to sleep over a new place.

I start to massage my temple, too tired but I have a lot of paper works pending.

"I'm gonna come back" I exhaustedly say before ending the call and grabbing my bag and laptop before stepping out and walking back inside the building.

"Mommy!" Bee run towards me after seeing me while Erin is giving me an apologetic smile.

"Go back to bed baby, mommy's here now" her small hand wrapped in my hand as we walk back to the set up living room where the queen size mattress was laid to the floor.

It was a queen size just like my bed back in the apartment and sure it has a space but when we are now sitting all together, it seems we're close to one another with Erin on the other side of the bed and bee is in our middle.

"Mommy don't leave ok?" the movie is still flashing in the screen were her eyes focused back.

And damn the comfort of this mattress along with my exhausted body is so giving. Like I can already feel my eyelids becoming heavy but I have work! So I shook my head to wake up before grabbing my laptop to start working again.

After half an hour, I stood up to make a coffee because I'm still half of my way to finishing the proposal.

"Bella" I looked over my shoulder when Erin calls me.

"Shit. I didn't ask. Well, can I make coffee in your kitchen?"

"You don't need to asked permission"

"I should. This isn't my house. Anyways, thanks" then continue to pour the glass a cold brew.

"You should take a rest, you can continue work tomorrow. You look so tired"

Yet it made me chuckle in annoyance "don't tell me what to do"

"Bee says you're overworking yourself"

I heavily inhaled before completely shifting to face her "Well obviously it's because I have a child to feed and your unsolicited opinion is not needed"

"I'm here now, let me help you Bella"

Her statement only makes me sarcastically smirk while staring at her in disbelief "I don't need your help financially because in case you're not aware, I'm completely capable of supporting both of us. I have a business, I can give my child whatever she wants but the only thing I need from you is to love Brielle unconditionally nothing else. Know your limit Erin, I just let you in our life for Brielle sake but always remember that we can live with or without you. And stop sounding like your concern because we both know that you never did. Now can I make a coffee? and leave me alone because I have a lot of pending to do" but then remembering something "and one last thing. Don't call me Bee, she died a very long time ago"
