Zahra visited her sister, Fatima.

"Zahra, my dear.. what brings you here today? I sense you have something in your mind.."

"I do, something important has come up, and I need your advice. I've received a marriage proposal..."

Fatima raised her eyebrows.

"A marriage proposal?? Masha'Allah.. this is wonderful news, Zahra. Who is the young man??"

"His name is Hisham. We've met a few times at the mosque and his family reached out to mine. We've spoken briefly, and I can see that he's a good man—kind and sincere. But... I want to make sure I'm making the right decision. This isn't something I want to rush into.."

"You're right to approach this with caution, Zahra. Marriage is one of the most significant decisions you will make in your life. It's not just about compatibility, but about shared values, goals, and most importantly.. how you can help each other grow in your faith. Tell me, what is it about Hisham that makes you consider him as a potential husband??"

"I admire his dedication to his family and his community. He's respectful and I believe he would be a supportive partner. But at the same time, I'm worried.. I want to make sure we both understand the responsibilities of marriage."

"It's good that you're thinking about that, Zahra.. many people rush into marriage. It's not just about love or attraction—it's about building a life together, facing challenges, and remaining committed to each other and to Allah, even when things get difficult.."

"That's exactly what I've been thinking about. I know marriage is a test.. and I want to make sure we're both prepared for it."

"Zahra.. let me ask you this—have you prayed Istikhara?"

Zahra shook her head.

"Not yet. I've prayed, but I haven't done Istikhara."

"Istikhara is a beautiful way of seeking Allah's guidance when we are unsure. It's not about receiving a dream or a clear sign, but about trusting that Allah will steer you in the right direction, even if the answer isn't immediate. It's a prayer of humility, acknowledging that only Allah knows what is best for us.."

"Make istikhara, Zahra.. whether it's a sense of peace, or if things don't move forward, trust that Allah is guiding your path. But also remember, it's important to continue getting to know Hisham, to have honest conversations about your future, your expectations, and how you will both support each other in your journey toward Allah.."

"Thank you, Fatima.."

"You're always welcome, Zahra.. just remember—this journey is not only about choosing a partner who will help you grow closer to Allah.. and that is the most important thing."
