Chapter 12

After a weeks of their marriage, Zahra and Hisham decided to spend their honeymoon at mountain of northern Morocco.

Hisham had chosen a quaint little village, where they could bask in the quietness of nature, far from the bustle of daily life. For Zahra, it was a dream come true—a get away where they could be alone and explore the beauty of the landscape.

"This place is beautiful," Zahra said.

"I thought you'd like it. It's just us for the next few days. No distractions. It's just our time to be together.."

Hisham held her hand.

They spent their first days as husband and wife wrapped in the simple joy of being with each other.

In the evening, they sat at the fire in the lodge. Hisham nonstop stared at Zahra. And then, she caught him staring at her.

"What are you thinking, Hisham?"

Hisham brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Nothing, just.. I'm thinking about how lucky I am. How lucky I am to call you my wife.."

Zahra started blushing.

"And I'm lucky to have you too, Hisham.."

Their honeymoon became a journey of discovery, not just of the world around them but of each other.

One night, while sitting on the lodge's balcony.. Zahra leaned her head on Hisham's shoulder.

"Do you think we'll always feel this way?"

Hisham wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer to him.

"I think feelings change over time. But that doesn't mean they get weaker. Love is something we'll have to keep nurturing and keep working on. And.. I'm ready for that, Zahra. I'm ready to keep choosing you, every single day.."

Zahra looked at him.

"I'll keep choosing you too, Hisham. No matter what life throws at us, I want to be there.. by your side.."

As they packed up to leave the lodge..

"Hisham.. I'll miss this place."

"We'll come back someday. But for now, it's time to go home and start building our life together."

The honeymoon period had come to an end, but it was only the beginning of their journey together.
