Two weeks had passed, and now Taehyung stood before the mirror, adjusting the collar of his turquoise blue suit, adorned with elegant gold thread. His reflection was flawless, yet he couldn't shake the hollowness in his gaze. His heart pounded loudly in his chest, as if trying to break free. His hand rested on the golden button of his suit, heavy with the weight of the decision he'd made.

These two weeks had been a blur, a storm that swept over him. Everyone had been busy with preparations for the wedding, except Taehyung... he had been quiet, unnaturally so. Too calm, like the eerie stillness before the rain.

Today was the day.

The day he had dreamed of since childhood.

The day he would marry his fated mate.

"Here I go," he whispered, eyes staring back at the version of himself he barely recognized. "I will do it. I won't expect anything from anyone... just be the perfect Omega."

Taehyung had made up his mind. If Jungkook didn't like him, so be it. He could live with it. After all, he had a role to fulfill. If this marriage brought pride to his family, that was enough. Yet, despite his resolve, a dull ache lingered in his chest-a sorrow he couldn't shake.

He had grown up listening to tales of fated mates, epic love stories, and unbreakable bonds. He had imagined his bond would be like that-full of passion, overwhelming emotions, and a love that would consume him. But here he was, ready to marry a man who barely looked at him.

"Are you ready, Taehyung?" his mother's voice pulled him from his thoughts. She entered the room, her eyes soft with pride as they took in the sight of her son in his wedding attire.

"You look beautiful, my sweet boy," she said softly, her voice full of warmth.

Taehyung forced a smile. "Yeah... I'm ready." But inside, he wasn't. Not at all. In just a few short hours, he would be standing across from Jungkook-the Alpha of the Mooncrest Pack. The Alpha he was meant to spend the rest of his life with.

His mother's eyes, though filled with pride, held a flicker of concern. She knew her son too well. "I know you're not okay... but do it for us. Please." Her words were gentle, but the weight of them was heavy.

Taehyung's throat tightened. "I will. It's just... I thought it would feel different."

"Different how?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

"I thought... when I found my mate, it would feel more... passionate. Jungkook barely says anything to me. How are we supposed to build a life together when he doesn't even look at me? Am I really that unwanted, Eomma?"

Mrs. Kim gave a small, sad smile and gently brushed a strand of hair from his forehead. "Love isn't always instant, Taehyung. Sometimes, it grows. Give Jungkook time. He may care for you in his own way."

Taehyung nodded, though the words felt hollow. Did he have any other choice?

The wedding was beautiful-simple, yet elegant. Taehyung walked down the aisle, his arm looped with his father's, his heart racing as he noticed all eyes on him. His father's pride was unmistakable, but Taehyung only felt nervous.

When his eyes finally landed on Jungkook, standing at the altar, his breath hitched. Jungkook looked as powerful and breathtaking as ever, his long hair brushing the back of his neck, his sharp features drawing attention. He was the outline of an Alpha. And yet... he didn't look at Taehyung. Not once.

Taehyung swallowed the lump in his throat. He had dressed beautifully for this day, but the only person who mattered wasn't even paying attention. His heart ached. Why was he even surprised? This was the norm.
