The air was filled with the gentle rustling of leaves from the forest besides, and the warm evening sun cast a golden glow over the pond. Jungkook sat on a chair, an empty one next to him, his eyes fixed on a goose gliding across the water. His view was momentarily blocked as a hand appeared, holding a coffee mug."Here’s your coffee," Taehyung said softly. Jungkook took the cup, their fingers brushing briefly. It had been two weeks since they’d started feeling more comfortable around each other, with subtle touches happening more often.
Sometimes it was accidental—Jungkook reaching for a glass or a tool Taehyung passed him—but each time, there was a spark. Taehyung knew Jungkook felt it too. He could sense it in the way their touches lingered, the unspoken connection growing between them.
"The atmosphere is so nice. Winter’s coming," Taehyung said, settling into the chair beside Jungkook, holding his own cup of coffee.
"Do you like winter?" Jungkook asked, taking a sip.
"I love winter," Taehyung replied with a smile.
Today, they had randomly decided to sit by the pond near their house, enjoying the quiet. It felt right to just be together, both of them soaking in the moment, sipping coffee as the gentle breeze ruffled their hair. Taehyung glanced at Jungkook's side profile, admiring how perfect he looked. He loved these moments of silent admiration.
"So, what made you want to become a sculptor?" Taehyung asked softly.
Jungkook chuckled. "I ask myself that too sometimes… Maybe because I just love it."
Taehyung smiled. "And you're amazing at it. People really admire you."
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about?"
"I'm serious. Yesterday, at the workshop, the students looked at you like you were their idol," Taehyung said, recalling the admiration on their faces. Yesterday Jungkook took Taehyung to his workshop which was in a different pack.
"You love your job, don't you?" Taehyung asked.
"Yeah, I do," Jungkook answered.
"What do you like making the most?" Taehyung pressed.
"Figures… figures of the people I love."
"Like your grandfather?" Taehyung asked gently.
"Yeah," Jungkook said with a soft, sad smile, taking another sip of his coffee.
Taehyung gulped a tense silence settled between them once again, broken only by the soft rustling of leaves or trees surrounding them. Taehyung hesitated, but the longing in his chest pushed him to speak up once more.
"I want to visit the pack," Taehyung said quietly, his voice linking with hope.
Jungkook's expression darkened slightly, his voice deepening as he responded, "It's not possible right now. We can go another time."
