HER PAST (CONTINUES)
Paro was rushing down the hallway, trying to find her locker when she suddenly collided with someone. Her books scattered across the floor.
"Hey! Can't you watch where you're going?" a sharp voice rang out.
Startled, Paro staggered back, and when she looked up, she saw him-tall, broad-shouldered, and standing over her with a frown. His brown hair was slightly messy. He had sharp features, a strong jawline, and striking grey eyes that looked down at her with irritation.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't see you."
The boy rolled his eyes, clearly not interested in her apology. "Whatever. Just stay out of my way next time."
Paro felt her anger rising at the rudeness in his tone. She was about to snap but stopped herself. "Look, I didn't do it on purpose. You don't have to be so rude."
The boy raised an eyebrow, his eyes cold, "Maybe you should pay more attention."
Paro's cheeks flushed with frustration. "Maybe you should be less of a jerk."
The boy gave her a once-over, his lips twisting into a smirk. "Right. Good luck with that, miss..... whatever."
Paro was speechless for a second, watching as he turned and walked away. She clenched her jaw, resisting the urge to yell something back. What a great way to start the day, she thought sarcastically.
A few minutes later, she found Preeti running towards her with excitement.
"Paro! Guess what? Jay's here! You know, the new guy I told you about . He's so handsome!"
Paro sighed, still annoyed from the encounter in the hallway. " Preeti, please. I am in no mood."
Preeti looked surprised. "Really? Anyway, what happened to you? You look annoyed."
Paro rubbed her forehead. "Some idiot in the hallway practically bit my head off because I bumped into him. The idiot was so rude!"
Preeti's eyes widened. "What? Who?"
"I don't even know! Some new guy with a huge ego, that's all I got from it," Paro muttered, still irritated.
Preeti shook her head, rolling her eyes. "Ugh, typical. Boys are such a pain sometimes. Don't let it get to you. Today's supposed to be fun! First day of school, new faces... you never know what could happen!"
Paro sighed, trying to let go of the frustration. "Yeah, I guess. I just didn't expect to start the day like that."
Preeti grinned and nudged her playfully. "Well, don't worry. I'll make sure you don't run into any more jerks. And I can't wait for you to meet Jay, you know."
Paro rolled her eyes hearing Preeti. She wasn't in a mood to encourage her stupid ideas. This day was turning out to be anything but smooth. She already had enough new encounters for the day and she surely wasn't ready for a new one.
.......
The classroom was filled with a mix of chatter and laughter as the teacher entered, followed by a new student. Paro was too lost in her own world to notice anything until the teacher spoke up.
"Alright, everyone. First of all congratulations to all of you for making it to the junior year. It's the very first day of this new journey and I wish you all the best. I can see all the old faces but we have a new student joining us today," the teacher announced, motioning for the boy behind her to step forward.
"Why don't you introduce yourself?"
"Hello everyone I'm Jay. Jay Khatri," he said casually. Paro felt her stomach drop listening to the voice. It's him! His voice had the same arrogant tone she'd heard in the hallway.
