It was a typical Gotham night, with the city's underbelly crawling out of the shadows to wreak havoc. Red Robin-Tim Drake-was perched high on a rooftop, eyes scanning the dark streets below, his mind sharp and focused. He'd been keeping an eye on a known gang that had been dealing drugs in the area, hoping to catch them in the act and get them off the streets before they could do any more damage.
He wasn't expecting a surprise.
A flicker of movement in the alley across the street caught his attention. A man in a long, tattered coat, his face hidden by a wide-brimmed hat, stepped out from the shadows. The figure's movements were slow, deliberate, as if waiting for something. Tim's instincts told him this wasn't just some random person. There was magic in the air-a faint, almost imperceptible aura that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
The man raised his hand, and before Tim could react, a burst of bright light engulfed him, blinding him for a split second. When his vision cleared, something felt off. The world around him seemed a little too... different. His suit felt tighter, his body weight shifted.
Tim glanced down and froze.
Instead of his usual Red Robin suit, he now wore a modified version of his outfit that-somehow-fit a female frame perfectly. He stumbled backward, trying to shake off the dizziness that came with the sudden transformation. His hands flew up to his face, feeling a smoothness that wasn't there before. His hair-it was longer now, framing his face in soft curls.
A voice from below broke his dazed thoughts.
"Well, this is a new development."
Tim's heart skipped a beat. That voice... He knew that voice. Batman. Or more specifically, Bruce Wayne, who had been following his patrol from a distance. His deep, concerned voice was unmistakable.
"Red Robin, what's going on up there?" Bruce's voice crackled through the comms.
Tim tried to steady his breathing. "I-something just happened, I'm not sure-"
Before he could finish, a soft laugh rang out from the alley where the magician had appeared.
"That was the plan, dear. A little magic to mix things up." The magician's voice was smooth, almost mocking. "You can thank me later. But for now, enjoy the view."
Tim snapped his head toward the alley and spotted the magician standing there, still with his hands outstretched, like he was proud of his work.
"Change me back!" Tim growled, his voice sounding strange and high-pitched, foreign. "I'm not-this isn't-"
But the magician only smiled slyly. "Oh, but I rather think this suits you. You'll make a much more interesting target now, Red Robin. A girl in Gotham? How fun."
With a quick flick of his wrist, the magician vanished into the shadows, leaving Tim in a state of confusion and frustration. He could feel his comms still active, with Bruce's voice cutting through.
"Red Robin, report your status. Are you hurt?"
Tim inhaled sharply, his fingers gripping the ledge of the rooftop to steady himself. "I-I'm fine. But I... I'm not sure what just happened. I think I've been turned into a girl."
There was a moment of silence on the other end, followed by a deep sigh. "That's... unexpected."
"Tell me about it," Tim muttered. He took a few tentative steps, adjusting to the shift in his body. His balance was off, and the change in his center of gravity felt wrong. He winced as his suit shifted, pressing against his body in ways it hadn't before.
"Tim, can you stay focused?" Bruce's voice was stern but concerned. "We need to keep this situation contained. Don't let it interfere with your patrol."
