Chapter 16– For the Betterment of Yourself...
October 6th..... Sunday..... 11:30 AM..... Devyn's Room.....
(Devyn's) Omniscient POV:
Devyn sat on his bed criss crossed with his laptop in his lap as he watched a show that Marty had told him to watch: The Office. The Office was a sitcom that takes place in Scranton, PA. Devyn had been watching all night and was still only on season 2 episode 3.
As he watched the show he started to think about Marty, realizing that he missed him. He picked up his phone and went to Marty's contact before sending a text that read, 'Hey you coming over today right???'.
He put his phone down as he continued to watch the show.

Over an hour had passed and Marty still hadn't text back. Devyn was now 2 episodes deeper into the show, which he thought was actually pretty good.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
"Devyn it's me!" His mom called out. "Come in!" He told her as he paused the show. The door opened halfway as his mom peaked her head in the room.
"Hey so I was getting started on dinner and I was wondering if your friend would like to come over for dinner.." She said saying 'friend' slyly. Devyn thought for a second. "I'll text him and let you know, but he's asleep right now so just make more." Devyn told her as she nodded her head and left.
Devyn picked up his phone once again to text Marty to ask him if he wanted to stay for dinner. He set down his phone as he waited for Marty to wake up and respond to his text. He continued to watch The Office, and even though he was enjoying himself, he just wanted to talk about one of Marty's interests.

Devyn sat in Zuris room as they talked and watched Mean Girls as neither of them had never seen it before.
"Regina is lowkey so girl coded." Zuri spoke with Devyn agreeing. "She's lowkey my favorite character." He said as he checked his phone.
"You good?" Zuri asked. "You've been checking your phone so much that I'm starting to think you sold to the cartel." Zuri joked.
"Sorry.. Marty's been asleep all day and it's not like him so I guess I'm a bit worried." Devyn explained to her.
"You want to go over his house?" Zuri asked. "What? No." He responded. "That's stalker-ish... we're not even dating..."
"Now Devyn you know damn well..." Zuri said with a straight face. "What?" He asked.
"You've know damn well he likes you way better than he likes his girlfriend." Zuri stated. "I don't see him caring that you went to check on him- In fact, I think he'd think it's cute." She explained to Devyn.
