Lies

He left because he couldn't fulfil my wishes.

A wish for a lie.

My dad came home drunk.

My mom woke up.

My dad wanted to leave

My mom screamed

I sat in Ella's room with my knees up to my chin 

Hearing. them. yell.

"Don't you leave!"

"I can't be here anymore!"

"You're going to leave me and Ella?" my mom yells making me close my eyes.

What about me?

"She's gone!" My dad yells. "I don't have my daughter anymore, don't you see?"

I'm still here

"I know that! but she wouldn't want this."

"There is nothing left for me here."

"What about me then?" My mom says

Mention me mama please

"I'm sorry, but I'm leaving. I hope you understand."

The door slammed shut.

He never came back.

Mama reverted to drugs.

I went to school the next day to escape my chaotic home life.

"Hi," Tanner says walking up beside me with Daisy. "You good?"

No one says sorry anymore. Now it's 'you good'

I nod my head quickly before returning to my locker.

"We wanted to ask you something," Daisy blurts out quickly making me look at her. "I'm not going to any parties."

"That's fine, it's not a party, as you know it's the month of October and we wanted to invite you to our little tradition we have every year."

Sounds suspicious

"What might that be?"

"It's totally legal."

Oh, so it's illegal

I raise an eyebrow waiting for her to elaborate she hits Tanner making him clear his throat and look at me. "Well, each year we all take a turn doing whatever we want."

"That's not very descriptive." I point out getting more frustrated.

"Well, last year," Daisy says shooting Tanner a glare. "Lewis T'Pd everyone's houses." her and Tanner laugh as if that isn't what everyone does.

I stare at them with a blank look clearly not interested in whatever they got going on.

"Well, this year it's my turn," Tanner says smiling at me. "I've got something really fun planned." I slam my locker shut and pin him with a glare. "I don't care, I'm not interested."

"Why not?" Daisy pouts tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "It's going to be really fun."

I start walking away from her when Tanner grabs my arm, I pull away from him and punch him straight in the nose. he staggers back a little while clutching his nose. Daisy looks at me with wide eyes and people start whispering.
