The house was unusually quiet when Beomgyu returned from school that afternoon, the tension from earlier still heavy on his shoulders. He hadn’t been able to shake off the humiliation of being bullied in front of everyone, and now, all he wanted was to retreat to his room and disappear for the rest of the day.Beomgyu slowly made his way upstairs, dragging his feet as he approached his bedroom door. Once inside, he shut the door quietly behind him, as if trying to close himself off from the rest of the world. The room, small and familiar, offered a fleeting sense of safety—a space where he could escape from the relentless torment of his stepbrother, Yeonjun.
He tossed his backpack onto the chair by his desk and sat down on the edge of his bed, his fingers brushing against the bruise on his cheek. The events of lunch break played over and over in his mind, each memory sharp and painful. He sighed, pulling his knees up to his chest, trying to find some comfort in the silence.
But that silence was soon shattered.
The door to his room swung open violently, slamming against the wall with a loud bang. Beomgyu’s heart jumped, his eyes widening as he saw Yeonjun standing in the doorway, his face twisted in an expression of irritation. Without asking, Yeonjun marched into the room, his presence filling the small space like an unwelcome storm.
Bg: What—what r u doing? Beomgyu stammered, his voice barely audible as Yeonjun strode over and plopped down on his bed, his legs stretched out arrogantly as if he owned the place.
Yeonjun didn’t bother answering right away. Instead, he leaned back, propping himself up on his elbows as he surveyed the room with a dismissive glance. His leather jacket creaked as he shifted his weight, the faint smell of cigarettes clinging to his clothes. Beomgyu grimaced at the sight, the invasion of his personal space making his skin crawl.
Finally, Yeonjun turned his head toward Beomgyu, a cruel smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
Yj: So little Beomgyu,
he drawled, his tone dripping with condescension.
Yj: I've got a deal for you.Beomgyu stayed frozen, his body tense with unease.
Bg: What do you want? he asked quietly, already knowing that whatever Yeonjun had in mind couldn’t be good.Yeonjun sat up slightly, his eyes narrowing as he stared down Beomgyu.
Yj: I'm behind on a few assignments. College Professors can be pain, u know? So I need you to do them for me.Beomgyu blinked, momentarily caught off guard.
Bg: Do your assignments?Yj: That's right. All of them. Yeonjun’s voice hardened.
Beomgyu swallowed nervously. He had barely enough time to keep up with his own schoolwork—there was no way he could handle Yeonjun’s assignments too.
Bg: I—I can't. I have my own work to do.Yeonjun’s smirk vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold glare.
Yj: That wasn't a request Beomgyu. You will do them.Beomgyu shook his head, mustering what little courage he had left.
Bg: No I'm not going to do your work for u..For a brief moment, there was silence. Then, without warning, Yeonjun shot up from the bed, towering over Beomgyu with a sudden, terrifying intensity. His eyes were dark with anger, and his fists clenched at his sides.
Yj: Do u think you can say no to me? Yeonjun hissed, his voice low and dangerous.
Beomgyu took an instinctive step back, but there was nowhere to run. His back hit the wall, his heart racing as Yeonjun stepped closer, the air between them thick with tension. Beomgyu’s pulse quickened as he braced himself for what was to come.
