It had been two years since Yeonjun and Beomgyu began living together. Things had changed in so many ways. Yeonjun had become the perfect CEO—strong, efficient, and respected. He ran the company smoothly, and no one ever doubted his leadership. But there was one thing that was out of his control. His feelings for Beomgyu had only grown stronger with time.
Beomgyu, on the other hand, had evolved into a professional worker, respected by colleagues and admired for his dedication. He had perfected his skills, and everyone saw him as someone to be trusted. But deep inside, something stirred when he looked at Yeonjun, something he didn’t want to admit.
Yeonjun had become madly in love with Beomgyu. The more time they spent together, the more he felt like his heart belonged only to him. But Yeonjun couldn’t find the courage to confess. He was afraid—afraid of rejection, afraid that Beomgyu might look at him differently after all they’d been through.
Sitting on his bed late at night, Yeonjun opened the drawer and pulled out his diary. His fingers hovered over the page as he sighed, unable to hold back the emotions that had been building inside of him.
Dear diary....
he began, his handwriting shaky as he spilled his heart onto the pages. You've been with me since my childhood, always a silent friend. Today I want to share something with you. I like Beomgyu...no I think I love him. I really love him. He's my world, my everything but I'm scared. What if he rejects me? What if he starts to hate me after knowing my feeling? I don't know if I can live with that. What should I do?Tears blurred his vision as he continued to write, the words flowing freely from his heart, his sadness seeping into the pages. The ink smudged as his tears fell, but Yeonjun couldn’t stop himself. The night passed in a blur as he poured all his emotions into the diary, unable to sleep as the weight of his feelings consumed him.
The next morning, Yeonjun dragged himself to the office, exhausted and emotionally drained. He barely made it through the day. When he arrived, Beomgyu was already at his desk, engrossed in his work. Yeonjun’s heart skipped a beat, but he couldn’t bear to look at him. Every time he did, he felt the pang of heartache—like there was an invisible wall between them, one that only he had built.
As the afternoon dragged on, Yeonjun noticed Beomgyu aggressively working on market files, barely taking a break. He couldn’t help but feel a rush of concern. Stepping forward, he asked softly,
Yj: Do you need any help? You seems to work alot these days. You can take some rest you know.Beomgyu glanced up, his face a bit stressed but still gentle.
Bg: No I've got it covered, thanks & about breaks I want to work hard so I don't need it.Yeonjun nodded, but something urged him to go a step further. He moved toward Beomgyu, carefully tucking a stray lock of hair behind his ear. The moment their fingers brushed, Beomgyu froze, his eyes wide with shock.
Bg: Sir......
Beomgyu murmured, his voice a mixture of surprise and uncertainty. Before Yeonjun could say anything more, he stepped back, avoiding Beomgyu’s gaze. But as he left the room, a soft smile tugged at his lips.
Later that evening, just as the office was about to close, the rain began to fall heavily. Beomgyu stood by the window, looking out at the storm. As he grabbed his things, he realized he had forgotten his umbrella.
Yeonjun, as always, was prepared. He grabbed the umbrella from the closet and walked over to Beomgyu.
Yj: You didn’t bring umbrella don't you?
Yeonjun asked, his voice gentle.Beomgyu shook his head, sheepishly glancing at the rain.
Bg: Guess I got caught in it.Without another word, Yeonjun opened the umbrella and held it over both of them as they walked out of the building. The rain had soaked Beomgyu through, and his clothes clung to him uncomfortably.
When they arrived home, Yeonjun carefully led Beomgyu inside, offering him a towel.
Yj: You're soaked. Go change, I'll make you something warm.Beomgyu smiled, grateful, but couldn’t help feeling an unusual warmth spreading in his chest. He watched Yeonjun move around the kitchen, Beomgyu's thoughts drifting to the touch of Yeonjun’s hand earlier, how it made his heart race for reasons he didn’t fully understand. Yeonjun made a warm bowl of soup for Beomgyu & took care care of him really well that night. Beomgyu was grateful for that.
The next day was a weekend, and Yeonjun had a special plan in mind. He invited Beomgyu to cook lunch together, something they hadn’t done in a long time. Beomgyu agreed, smiling at the idea.
They worked together in the kitchen, chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients. The playfulness between them flowed naturally, and soon, they found themselves in a flour fight. Beomgyu wiped flour from Yeonjun’s face with a teasing grin, only to have Yeonjun retaliate with a handful of flour thrown at him. Laughter filled the kitchen, but when Yeonjun moved closer, wiping flour from Beomgyu’s face again, the moment felt charged.
Their faces were mere inches apart, and Beomgyu could feel the heat rising in his cheeks. He quickly pulled away, avoiding Yeonjun’s gaze. Yeonjun, too, was flustered, his heart beating faster than he cared to admit.
They ate dinner together, the silence between them comfortable but laden with unspoken emotions. Afterward, as they both prepared for bed, Yeonjun lay awake, his mind racing with thoughts of Beomgyu. He couldn’t stop himself from feeling this intense longing, this fierce desire to confess his feelings, but fear held him back. What if Beomgyu didn’t feel the same? What if everything changed between them?
Beomgyu, too, lay awake in his own bed, his thoughts swirling around Yeonjun. He had noticed the little things—the soft touches, the lingering glances—but he hadn’t said anything. Maybe he, too, was scared to take the next step.
Yeonjun, unable to shake his thoughts, sat at his desk late into the night, writing a draft of his confession. But as he reached the final line, he hesitated. His hand trembled as he set the pen down. Was he ready to reveal his heart to Beomgyu?
Across the room, Beomgyu turned onto his side, staring at the ceiling, wondering if Yeonjun felt the same. Both of them were too scared to make the first move.
