Beomgyu trudged to school, his head hanging low, trying to hide the heaviness that sat in his heart like a stone. Memories of yesterday’s confrontation with Yeonjun clouded his mind, making his steps slow and uncertain. Just as he rounded the corner of the hallway, he accidentally bumped into someone. Looking up, he saw a boy about his age, with warm eyes and a gentle smile. There was something kind and genuine about him that felt...safe.

Bg: hey sorry about that!
the boy chuckled softly.
Sb: It's okay could u help me find my class? I'm kind of lost. I'm supposed to be in room 379

Beomgyu’s eyes widened slightly.
Bg: That's my class,too!
he said, managing a small smile.
Bg: I can take u there if you'd like

Sb: Thanks you're a life saver! I'm Soobin by the way.
the boy introduced himself, extending a hand.
Sb: & u are?

Bg: Beomgyu
he replied, shaking Soobin’s hand. The touch felt reassuring, somehow.

As they entered the classroom, Beomgyu headed to his usual spot, a lonely desk in the back corner. He was surprised to see Soobin walking over with him. Soobin flashed a bright smile as he slid into the seat beside him.
Sb: Is this seat taken?

Bg: No it's all yours
Beomgyu replied, feeling an unexpected warmth from Soobin’s friendly nature.

As the class began, they exchanged quiet whispers, sharing little details about themselves. By the time lunch rolled around, Beomgyu found himself enjoying the company of this new boy who somehow made him feel seen, like he wasn’t invisible after all.

Lunch time🍳

The cafeteria was buzzing with chatter, but as usual, Beomgyu felt on the outside of it all. He led Soobin to an empty table in the corner. Soobin glanced around, noticing the way Beomgyu seemed to avoid looking at anyone else.

Sb: So do u have....other friends? Soobin asked gently.

Beomgyu looked down at his lunch, hesitating. He didn’t usually open up, but something about Soobin’s warm gaze made him feel like he could trust him.
Bg: I.....used to
he began slowly.
Bg: But something happened & now... everyone sort of...avoids me

Soobin’s face softened with concern.
Sb: What happened? If u don't mind asking me?

Beomgyu took a deep breath, fiddling with his food.
Bg: there was this incident...I took some documents from the principal's office but...it wasn't my idea.I was tricked into doing it. & now everyone thinks I'm a thief

Soobin’s expression was filled with understanding.
Sb: That's sounds so unfair. I'm so sorry for u. People can be really quick to judge can't they?

Beomgyu nodded, a slight tremor in his voice.
Bg: Yeah...& no one really believes me or wants to hear my side of the story

Soobin reached across the table, placing a comforting hand on Beomgyu’s shoulder.
Sb: don't worry I believe u. you don't have to go through this alone I'm here for you.

Beomgyu looked up, his eyes brightening slightly.
Bg: Really?

Sb: Of course. I know how does it feels to be misunderstood. but we'll go through this together...
Soobin said, smiling softly.

For the first time in what felt like ages, Beomgyu felt a glimmer of hope. It was strange how a single conversation with someone who understood could make him feel lighter, like a weight was lifted off his chest.

The rest of the school day passed quickly. Soobin and Beomgyu found themselves talking more, sharing stories and laughing over small things. They traded phone numbers at the end of the day, and that night, they stayed up texting each other, talking about their favorite things and random bits of life.

> Text from Soobin:
Hey Beomgyu, are you still awake?

> Text from Beomgyu: Yeah, I am! I’m actually kinda glad you messaged. It feels good having someone to talk to.

> Text from Soobin:
Me too :) I’m really glad we met. You’re a cool person, Beomgyu.

A smile spread across Beomgyu’s face as he read Soobin’s words. It felt surreal—like he was finally understood, finally accepted. With every message, his heart felt a little lighter, his worries easing with the assurance that he wasn’t alone anymore.

The following days were a whirlwind of new experiences. Every day, Soobin made it a point to sit with Beomgyu in class, and they ate lunch together in the cafeteria, talking about anything and everything. For once, Beomgyu didn’t feel like he had to hide in the shadows. Soobin brought out the best in him, and he started to remember what it felt like to laugh and be genuinely happy.

One day, during lunch, Beomgyu looked over at Soobin, gratitude filling his eyes.
Bg: Thank u for being my understanding friend Soobin. I don't know what I'd do without u.

Soobin gave him a soft, understanding smile.
Sb: That's what we r friends for right?

They both laughed, feeling the warmth of their friendship growing deeper by the day. Beomgyu finally felt like he had a reason to keep going, a friend who truly understood him.
