Beomgyu stirred awake, his body heavy with the weight of sleep. Blinking slowly, his mind felt hazy, and as he turned his head to the side, he froze. Yeonjun was there, lying next to him, his arms loosely wrapped around Beomgyu’s smaller frame. The older boy was still asleep, his face relaxed, a rare softness replacing the usual coldness that Beomgyu had grown used to.For a moment, Beomgyu couldn’t remember what had happened. How had he ended up in Yeonjun’s embrace? His thoughts were muddled, and a dull headache lingered in the back of his mind as he tried to piece together the fragments of the previous day. But nothing came. All he knew was that something had happened—something that left him drained and confused.
With a small, panicked gasp, Beomgyu quickly wriggled out of Yeonjun’s arms, slipping off the bed and standing up shakily. His heart pounded in his chest as he glanced back at Yeonjun, who still lay sound asleep, unaware of his brother’s abrupt departure.
Beomgyu hurried through his morning routine, his hands trembling slightly as he washed up and got dressed. The nagging feeling of something being wrong still gnawed at the edges of his thoughts, but he pushed it aside, focusing instead on getting ready for school.
By the time Beomgyu arrived at school, his mind was clearer, but the unease hadn’t completely faded. He had always been an anxious person, but something about today felt different—like there was a storm brewing just on the horizon, and he wasn’t sure how to prepare for it.
After classes, Beomgyu went to his favorite part of the day: music class. His fingers brushed lightly over the violin strings as he set up beside the other students. Music had always been his escape, a way to forget about everything else for a while. And today, with everything weighing on him, he needed that escape more than ever.
He was paired with a college senior for practice, a kind upperclassman who smiled warmly at him as they prepared to play. Beomgyu allowed himself to relax, the familiar comfort of the violin soothing his nerves as they began to play together. The melody filled the room, and for a brief moment, Beomgyu could forget everything—the bullying, the stress, Yeonjun’s cruel treatment—and lose himself in the music.
But peace was never something Beomgyu was allowed to keep for long.
The door to the practice room swung open with a loud bang, and Beomgyu’s heart sank as he saw Yeonjun standing in the doorway, a smug smirk on his face. Behind him, a few other students followed, all of them grinning in that way that made Beomgyu’s stomach twist.
YJ: Wow! Look at this!
Yeonjun said loudly, his voice dripping with mockery as he strode into the room.
Yj: Little Beomgyu thinks he's a musician now?The other students laughed, and Beomgyu felt his face heat up in embarrassment. He lowered his violin, his fingers trembling slightly as he tried to avoid eye contact with his older brother.
Yj: Why r u even here Beomgyu? Yeonjun sneered, stepping closer to him.
Yj: You're not good enough to play with College students your just a pathetic high schooler.Beomgyu’s throat tightened, and he tried to step back, but the other students blocked his way. His heart raced in his chest as he felt trapped, surrounded by Yeonjun and his friends, all of them watching him with amusement.
Yj: What's wrong huh?
Yeonjun leaned in closer, his voice low but filled with menace.
Yj: Too scared to play now? Or maybe you're too weak to handle it.Beomgyu swallowed hard, his hands shaking as he clutched the violin tightly. He wanted to stand up for himself, to say something, anything, but the words wouldn’t come. He was frozen, his mind racing but his body paralyzed with fear.
Yeonjun smirked, satisfied with Beomgyu’s silence.
Yj: That's what I thought you're nothing Beomgyu. Remember that. With one final glance, Yeonjun and his friends turned and left the room, their laughter echoing down the hallway. Beomgyu stood there for a moment, his body trembling with a mix of humiliation and fear, before he quietly packed up his violin and left the music room, his heart heavy.
Later that afternoon, Beomgyu returned home, his mind still reeling from the encounter at school. His body ached with exhaustion, and all he wanted to do was hide in his room and forget the day had ever happened.
But as soon as he stepped into the kitchen, his mother greeted him with a warm smile.
Mrs.Choi: Beomie~ You're home! I prepared some snacks for u darling.Beomgyu managed a small, tired smile as he sat down at the table, grateful for the small comfort. His mom placed a plate of snacks in front of him, and for a moment, Beomgyu felt a sense of normalcy return.
But that peace was shattered the moment Yeonjun walked into the kitchen.
Without a word, Yeonjun strolled over to the table and grabbed the plate of snacks that Beomgyu’s mom had prepared for him. Beomgyu’s heart sank as he watched his older brother take the food away, a smug grin on his face as he started to eat.
Beomgyu’s hands clenched into fists, the frustration and anger boiling over inside him. He had had enough. His entire day had been filled with torment, and now Yeonjun was taking the one small comfort he had left.
Bg: Give it back.
Beomgyu said quietly, his voice shaking with suppressed anger.Yeonjun raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by Beomgyu’s sudden defiance.
Yj: what did u just say?Bg: I said give it back.
Beomgyu repeated, his voice a little louder this time.
Bg: Those were for me.Yeonjun’s smirk widened, and he set the plate down on the table, leaning forward until he was right in Beomgyu’s face.
Yj: You're raising your voice at me now? I didn't know you had it in u?Beomgyu swallowed hard, but he refused to back down. He was tired—tired of being pushed around, tired of being treated like he didn’t matter.
Yeonjun’s expression darkened as he grabbed Beomgyu’s wrist, his grip tight and painful.
Yj: you should be grateful, Beomgyu that I even let you speak to me don't forget who I am.Beomgyu winced in pain, but he didn’t look away. His heart pounded in his chest, his breath coming in short, shallow bursts as Yeonjun’s grip tightened around his wrist.
Yj: I could kill u in just one minute. Yeonjun whispered, his voice cold and threatening.
Yj: & nobody will ever find out.Beomgyu’s body went rigid with fear, his mind racing as Yeonjun’s words sank in. The threat hung in the air between them, heavy and suffocating, and for a moment, Beomgyu couldn’t breathe.
Yeonjun released his wrist with a final, harsh stroke, pushing him back slightly.
Yj: Don't forget what I said Beomgyu. With that, Yeonjun turned and walked out of the kitchen, leaving Beomgyu standing there, his body trembling with a mixture of fear, anger, and helplessness. His wrist throbbed where Yeonjun had grabbed him, and tears pricked at the corners of his eyes as the weight of everything crashed down on him.
He had never felt so alone.
