Weeks had gone by, and the change in Yeonjun’s behavior was unmistakable. He had gone from being cold and ruthless to almost overly affectionate and caring toward Beomgyu. The sudden shift left Beomgyu unsure at first, but as time passed, his wariness faded.

Yeonjun now cooked breakfast for Beomgyu, took care of his needs, and even made sure he was comfortable at home. Every night, he’d sit beside Beomgyu, helping him with his homework, sometimes feeding him during meals, and even tucking him into bed with a smile.

Beomgyu’s fears of Yeonjun vanished with each passing day. The harsh words, the bullying at school, the constant intimidation—it was all a distant memory now. Beomgyu finally felt like he had the brother he had always longed for.

One  afternoon, Beomgyu sat by the window in his room, staring at the downpour outside. He absentmindedly strummed his guitar, playing soft tunes that matched the sound of the rain. His thoughts wandered to how peaceful everything had become with Yeonjun. It felt strange, yet he cherished every moment.

As he played, a soft knock on the door made him turn.
Bg: come in
Beomgyu called, thinking it was his mom.

Instead, it was Yeonjun. He walked in with that same soft smile he had been wearing lately, but there was something else in his eyes. Something Beomgyu couldn’t quite figure out.

Yj: playing again Beomie?
Yeonjun asked as he walked over to sit on the edge of Beomgyu’s bed.

Beomgyu smiled and nodded.
Yj: yeah it helps me relax.

Yeonjun reached out, gently placing a hand on Beomgyu's head.
Yj: Good. you deserve to be relaxed you've been working so hard.
.

Beomgyu felt his cheeks warm at the unexpected praise.
Bg: thanks hyung
he whispered, feeling that familiar comfort creep in.

Yeonjun leaned in slightly, his voice lowering.
Yj: you know I've been thinking a lot lately..about how things have changed between us.

Beomgyu blinked up at him, unsure of where this was going.
Bg: yeah...it's been nice... hasn't it?

Yeonjun chuckled softly, his hand trailing down to rest on Beomgyu’s shoulder.
Yj: It has but I also think I need to even more attentive to u don't I? After all I'm your big brother.

Beomgyu looked down, a small smile playing on his lips.
Bg: you've been really good to me hyung.

Yeonjun nodded, his eyes glinting with something dark for just a moment.
Yj: of course I have. & I'll do it forever.

The rest of the evening passed quietly. At dinner, Yeonjun did something that made Beomgyu’s heart swell with affection. As they ate, Yeonjun casually placed half of his food onto Beomgyu’s plate, something that had become a routine over the past few weeks. Their mother smiled, clearly pleased with how well her boys were getting along, but Beomgyu didn’t miss the glint of satisfaction in Yeonjun’s eyes as he passed the food.

Later that night, as Beomgyu sat in bed watching TV, Yeonjun entered his room without knocking. Beomgyu looked up, surprised but no longer anxious.

Bg: hyung?
Beomgyu asked softly.

Yeonjun didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he sat beside Beomgyu on the bed, leaning in close like he had done so many times before. Beomgyu felt a little flutter of confusion. Yeonjun’s presence, though comforting, seemed… calculated somehow.
