20. Secrets

Julietta POV

As I stare out of the hotel room window I couldn't help but wish that my brother had just kept his mouth shut. If he hadn't made that assumption I wouldn't be here now pacing around this room with my phone to my ear.

"God I wish you were here April" I sigh as I sit by the window.

"So do I, just want to give you a big hug right now" she sighs "but being here over the phone will just have to do, so tell me what made you even think.............."

"Phil" I say cutting her off "he made an assumption when we said we had news and we'll now.......here I am pacing the room like an idiot"

"Forgive me for asking but why isn't Damian with you?" She asks and I fall silent "Jules! Julietta Marie Brooks please tell me you have to him about this! Please tell me he isn't off somewhere with no clue you are doing this"

"He's in the gym" I say "I'm going to tell him after, I just wanted to know first, no point worrying him if there is nothing to worry about"

"You and your bother are far too much alike" she laughs

"Hey! Now if you are going to insult me I will end this call" I say and she just laughs louder

"You know it's true" she laughs "is it time yet?"

I look down at the timer on my tablet just i  time to see the last few seconds tick away. With a deep breath and nauseous knot in my stomach I head back to the bathroom.

For a moment I just stare at the little white plastic stick not wanting to turn it over, not wanting to know it's secret.

"Jules? Jules? For fucks sake what does it say?" April asks

"Erm I don't know let me look" I say reaching out and turning it over "Oh..........oh my..........oh my gosh.........I.........."

"Well that tells me all I need to know" she says "now march your ass to the gym and talk to him...............NOW or so help me I will get the next flight and come kick your ass"

"Alright I will, I'll go now" I say "what if..........."

"Don't, it will be fine" she says "he's a good man you know that and he is crazy in love with you.....don't worry just pull on the big girl panties and go talk to him"

"Thanks April I couldn't have asked for a better sister in law" I smile "I love you"

"Love you too now go" she says ending the call

With a deep breath I grab the room key and head to the hotel gym. As I walk I try to plan out what I'm going to say in my head but nothing seems right and I can feel my anxiety rising and all I want to do is throw up.

When I arrive I spot Damian straight away leaning against a wall talking to Jackie. I see her laughing and touching his arm and an uneasy feeling falls over me as I approach them.

"But won't Julietta.............."

"Don't worry she doesn't suspect a thing" he says and I freeze to the spot "she knows nothing and it's going to stay that way"

"How do you she's not just good at hiding that she knows something?" She asks

"Because I know Jules" he laughs "she wouldn't be able to keep it to herself if she found out, she'd have to tell some one she knew. And luckily the people she would tell will all tell me"

Slowly I start to back away not wanting to hear anymore. I don't know what hurt more, the fact he has someone else or the fact that the people in thight I could trust were helping him get away with it.

I turn around and start to walk towards the door but all too soon a familiar voice rings out across the room.

"Jules? Nugget? What are you doing here mi amor?" He asks wrapping his arms around me from behind "I thought you had a migraine and wanted to rest?" He asks kissing my cheek and I feel physically sick.

"I was feeling a little better and thought you might want to get some lunch but I could see you were busy" I say and he turns me to face him

"I'm never too busy for you nugget" he says kissing my lips softly "is there anything in particular you fancy or do you just want to walk and see what we find?"

"You know......I think that migraine is coming back I'm just going to go back to the room" I say trying to move but he stops me and looks deep in my eyes

"What's wrong nugget?" He asks "you look like your whole world just exploded, has something happened?"

"Nothing..........I'm fine I promise" I say but he still won't let me go

"I'm not buying" he says "let's go up to the room we can talk privately then and you can tell me what's going on" he says as I finally break free from his embrace

"No" I say and his brow furrows "I don't want to talk, I just want to be alone, to rest is that too much to ask?"

"It is when I know there is something you're not saying, something your not telling me" he says "you know you can talk to me about anything and it hurts that you won't do that. We are a couple, a team and we deal with things together, so please talk to me nugget, let me help you"

"Be aren't though are we" I say before walking out of the gym leaving him with a confused look on his face

"Jules! Jules! Wait" he calls after me "what do you mean we're not? What the hell have i missed here"

"If you can't work it out then I can't help you" I say "please don't follow me just leave me alone"

"No" he says taking my hand and stopping me in my tracks "I refuse to just let you go, I refuse to not fight for you, for us. I love you nugget and I have no idea what's going on right now, but I do know one thing I will follow you until you talk to me so what's it going to be because I'm not adverse to standing outside the toilet while you pee"

"I heard you alright" I snap "I heard you and Jackie talking, I know and I know everyone has been covering for you, there I've talked now will you let me go?" I ask

"No" he says "what I'm going to do is take you back to our room and I'm going to sit you down and explain why what your thinking is completely wrong"  he says lifting me and walking towards the lift giving me absolutely no choice in the matter.
