29. Paradise

Julietta POV

As I smooth the fabric of my dress over my baby bump I couldn't help but smile as I took in my reflection. I couldn't have been happier with what I had managed to create.

I had wanted something that allowed for my bump but also had elements of the dress I had worn when he proposed and I had achieved it all.

We had arrived here a day before Damian to allow us to hide everything we didn't want him to see. Knowing he was here but in a separate room had been difficult. I had felt incredibly lonely during the night and few times I had had to stop myself going to his room so that I could feel his arms around me.

"Wow look at you" Rhea says as she enters the room "you look beautiful, I just know he's going to cry when he sees you"

"Thank you" I say giving her a hug
"How is he doing?"

"His hands a shaking that much Phil had to do his tie for him" she chuckles "but he's fine and can't wait to see you"

"It feels like a dream you know" I smile "I'm not only marrying Damian but I'm having his baby, I never thought this would ever be my future"

"Not everyone gets this lucky" she smiles "you two are meant for each other and the way light up in each others presence, honestly it's beautiful to see"

"Alright are we ready to........wow!" Phil says walking up to me woth tears in his eyes "you look beautiful kiddo"

"Thank you" I smile "and yes, I've never been more ready"

I link arms with Phil and head out of the room with Rhea following behind me. As we step outside I find that Capilano Suspension Bridge is even more beautiful than I remembered.
Flowers had been added all around and the firefly lights are glowing softly.

We walk a familiar path until we find Damian and everyone else waiting right at the spot where he proposed.

I take him in in his suit as he smiles at me, just as Rhea had predicted tears run down his cheeks as he watches me his eyes never leaving mine.

When we reach him Phil places my hand in Damian's and kisses my cheek.

"Take good care of her" he whispers

"Always" Damian replies "you look like an angel mi amor"

"And you look very handsome" I smile back.

Damian takes both my hands in his and we face each other as they officiant begins the ceremony.

"We are gathered to join this man and this woman in marriage" he says "anyone who knows of an reason why this not happrn should speak now"

We smile at each other as they room remains silent.

"Alright then" he smiles "Damian would you like to say your vows"

"Julietta" he smiles "I've known you lifetime and loved you just as long. When I asked you to marry me here I chose this place because I thought it was paradise but I've come to realise that if you are with me whereever we are is paradise. You are my best friend, my soulmate and the love of my life. You are the reason I strive everyday to be the best version of myself. I vow right here today that I will spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you have made me, that I will be the best husband and father I can be and that our life together will be nothing short of perfect. I love you nugget, today, tomorrow and always"

Wiping my eyes I clear my throat and take a deep breath before starting my own vows

"Damian, I fell in love with the first moment I saw you. I had never known anyone like you. You made me feel like I was special and not just your best friends kid sister. I always felt that I got to see a side of you that no one else does and I've never regretted a single second of giving my heart to you, even when you didn't know I had. You are my love, my life and my everything and a life without is a life I don't want. I can't wait for the next chapter when our little one joins us. I love you cookie, always have and I always will"

With friends and family watching we exchange rings repeating the officiant words .

"Damian do you take Julietta to be you lawful wedded wife" the officiant asks

"I do" he smiles

"Julietta do you take Damian to be you lawful wedded husband?" He asks

"Yes I do" I reply my eyes staying firmly on Damian

"Then I know pronounce you man and wife" he smiles "Damian you may now kiss your bride"

"Finally" he grins before taking my face in his hands and kissing me deeply and lovingly "I love you" he whispers

"I love you too" I whisper back

All around us our friends and family are clapping but our gaze is fixed on each other and nothing else until our baby boy decides to kick the hand Damian had lovingly placed on my bump

"I guess he's having a don't touch me day" Damian chuckles

"That or he's ready to get out of there" I laugh "God knows I'm ready for him to be here"

"Me too" he smiles "patience little man it won't be long" he says softly

"Here's to the next chapter Mr Priest" I smile

"I can't wait Mrs Priest and for all the chapters that follow" he says kissing me lovingly once more
