Sathya's mind reeled from Sidh's invitation. She couldn't believe he'd asked her to his birthday party.
The nurse entered the cabin. "Doctor, your work today is over. You may go."
Sathya stood, taking the paper with Sidh's address and number. She smiled, lost in thought.
But reality struck her.
"No, Sathya, no! He's just a friend, nothing more."
She headed home, her thoughts in turmoil.
Ava and Arunima were busy cooking in the kitchen.
"Sathya, what's wrong?" Arunima asked, noticing her friend's flushed face.
"You won't believe what happened," Sathya exclaimed.
Arunima's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"
"I met Sidh and Arun," Sathya revealed.
Arunima's eyes widened in shock. "What? Are you mad?"
Sathya recounted the hospital encounter, including Sidh's invitation.
Arunima's face fell, memories of Arun resurfacing.
"Sathya, I missed Arun," Arunima admitted, her voice trembling.
Sathya's eyes welled up with tears. "Arunima, it's all because of me."
Arunima reassured her, "No, Sathya, it's not your fault."
The friends shared a heartfelt hug, Ava joining in.
Sathya showed Arunima the paper with Sidh's details.
"Is he inviting you to his birthday party?" Arunima asked, a sly smile spreading.
Sathya nodded.
"Go tomorrow," Arunima urged.
Ava chimed in, "Are you still into him?"
Sathya hesitated. "I don't know. Seeing him brought back high school feelings."
Arunima and Ava chuckled.
Sathya looked puzzled. "What's so funny?"
Arunima patted her back. "Nothing, go freshen up and sleep. We'll talk tomorrow."
Sathya nodded, her mind still reeling.
Sathya headed to the bathroom, lost in thought. As she opened the shower faucet, memories flooded her mind.
High school days. Football grounds. Stalking Sidh. Eye contact under the rain. That awkward yet thrilling collision.
All the good, crushing moments replayed in her mind like a cherished album.
After a refreshing bath, Sathya brushed her teeth and completed her skincare routine.
She slipped into bed, turning off the lights.
But sleep evaded her.
Sidh's reappearance was unbelievable. Her mind raced with questions.
Why did he invite me to his birthday party?
Did he still have feelings to me?
Hours ticked by, Sathya's thoughts swirling.
Finally, exhaustion took over, and she drifted off to sleep.
