The Menon household was buzzing with energy the next morning. The excitement from the shopping trip the previous day lingered, and preparations for the upcoming wedding were already underway in everyone's minds. In Parvathi's room, she sat on her bed with a soft smile, lost in thought about the time she'd spent with Sathya. Each interaction left her more confident that Sathya was a perfect fit for their family.
Meanwhile, Sidh was finishing breakfast, trying to keep up a composed demeanor. He had hoped that returning to his work routine might help him clear his mind, but thoughts of the wedding continued to creep in.
"Amma," he said, catching Parvathi as she passed by the dining room. "I wanted to talk to you about some of the arrangements."
Parvathi's face lit up. "Of course, Sidh! I've actually been planning to discuss this with you too." She sat down across from him, her warm eyes filled with excitement. "I thought we could go over the wedding details together and maybe even invite Sathya for some of the arrangements. What do you think?"
Sidh hesitated for a moment. "Yes... that sounds like a good idea." He paused, then said carefully, "I know this is important to you and Dad, and I want to do everything I can to make it go smoothly."
Parvathi beamed, pleased by his willingness. "I know, Sidh. You're doing a wonderful job."
Before they could continue, Visu came running into the room, clutching a handful of flowers she had picked from the garden. "Sidh Uncle , look what I got! Flowers for you!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with delight as she presented her small bouquet.
Sidh's face softened instantly. "These are beautiful, Visu," he said, taking the flowers from her tiny hands. "Thank you." He glanced over at Parvathi, giving her a smile as if to say, Visu has truly brought a new light to this house.
"Visu, darling," Parvathi called, "why don't you ask Shreya aunty to join us? We need her help too."
Visu nodded, dashing off to find Shreya. As Parvathi and Sidh waited, Parvathi couldn't help but continue talking about Sathya. "You know, Sidh, she reminds me of myself when I was her age. Independent yet caring. She'll bring such a nice balance to your life."
Sidh just nodded politely, but he didn't say much. The situation weighed on him, and while he respected Sathya, he knew it was going to take time to adjust to the idea of marriage, especially given his complex feelings for Niyasha and the conditions he had set with Sathya.
Just then, Shreya walked in, looking like she had just stepped out of a magazine with her neatly styled hair and carefully selected outfit. She glanced between Parvathi and Sidh, curiosity in her gaze.
"Aunty, you called?" she asked, her voice laced with interest.
Parvathi nodded, beckoning her to sit. "Yes, Shreya, dear. We were discussing some of the wedding preparations. I thought it would be good for all of us to get involved together."
Shreya smiled, though there was a flicker of something else in her eyes. "Of course, Aunty. I'd be happy to help."
Parvathi continued, "Sathya and I were able to select the jewelry and sarees, but we still have so much more to plan. The venue, decorations, music... I want this wedding to be perfect."
Shreya listened, nodding, but the mention of Sathya brought a subtle tension to her expression. She masked it quickly, yet her thoughts churned. Though she knew she was supposed to be happy for Sidh and the family, the attention and admiration Sathya received left her feeling overlooked and insecure.
"Sidh," Parvathi continued, "I think it would be nice if you and Sathya could handle some of the planning together as well. After all, it's your wedding, and I want it to reflect both of you."
