Madi's POV

I walk into my room and throw my shoes to the side. After I left the party, I walked home and eventually took my heels off. I lie down on my bed, not bothering to change. Tears role down my cheeks and fall onto my pillow. I pull the covers up and let sleep overtake me.

~~~~~
"Madison. Wake up." I roll over to see my mom standing in the hallway, "What're you still doing in bed? We're going to be late for church."
"I'm not feeling good." I roll back over, a migraine kicking in.
"Well that's expected when you stay out until one partying."
"I don't know if I can go to church today, Ma."
"Too bad. You better be ready in fifteen minutes or I will drag you out of that bed myself. Navy blue, by the way." I groan and get up as she closes my door. I look at myself in the mirror and go to my bathroom to wash the makeup off of my face.
I walk back out and pull my dress off from last night, I pull on a long white skirt and a navy blue striped sweater. I grab a pair of socks and my navy blue converse. I brush out my hair and wrap a head covering around. I do a small amount of makeup and go downstairs and into the kitchen. I grab the bottle of Ibuprofen from a cabinet and fill a glass with water before taking two pills. I head over to the couch where Daniel's sitting in his navy blue slacks and white button up, "Hey, I think I lost my phone last night. Did you see it?"
"No, sorry, I can call it if you want."
"It's fine, I'll deal with it when we get back." We sit in awkward silence until our parents come out from their room by the kitchen.
"Perfect. You're both ready." They walk towards the door and Daniel and I get up to follow them to the car. We climb into the back and buckle up as our dad starts driving. It doesn't take long to get to the one church in our town and we walk in with everyone else. I can't help but notice Blake sitting a few pews behind us with his parents.
Once mass is over, we walk outside to the lawn where there's donuts, lemonade, and coffee on tables. I stand by myself off to the side and watch as people mingle. My brother hangs out with his friends, and it looks like Lexi managed to convince her parents to let her stay home as only her dad is here.
I watch as Blake walks up to Daniel and starts talking to him while handing something over. They both look over to me and Blake finally leaves him alone. Shortly after, Daniel walks up to me, "Here's your phone. He says you left it at the party last night." He hands it over to me and I look down to see a note left in the clear case. Daniel leaves and I take off the case to read the note. My eyes tear up as I skim over it,
"I'm so sorry, Madi. I wasn't expecting it to come this far. I really didn't mean to hurt you. When I made that bet, I was drunk and stupid and didn't know what I was getting into. I regret everything I did to make you hate me. I really like you, and if I had known it would've ended up like this, I never would've done what I did. I'm sorry, please forgive me."
I crumple it up and walk past him, shoving the note in his chest as I pass. I walk up to my parents, "Can we go home?"
My moms ready to say something before my dad cuts her off, "Sure, Honey." He calls Daniel over and we walk to the car and drive home. I walk up to my room and try to bury myself in homework.
Blake's POV
"Jeez, Blake. Why the hell would you do something that stupid?" Mason's head falls into his hands. We're sitting on his couch after church, waiting for everyone else to get here.
"I wasn't thinking-"
"Obviously. Why were you even hanging out with Liam. He's a complete douche."
"I don't even know. I was just drunk."
"You gotta stop making excuses. That's never gonna get her back."
"What do you mean?"
"You've never liked a girl like you've liked Madi. You gotta get her back."
"How?"
"Shit, I don't know. Ask Corinne and Kate or something."
It's another five or so minutes before they finally get here. As Sean walks past me, he slaps me upside the head, "Idiot." That continues on for Corinne, Kate, and Jake all letting me know that I'm a complete asshole.
"What the fuck's wrong with you?" Corinne starts to berate me from Mason's lap, "That was beyond stupid of you. I mean, you can have your dick moments but that was way too far. You've managed to piss her off, what, three times in the last month? I think at this point you heavily qualify for the asshole of the year award. How could you treat her like that? I mean, of all things, you made a bet on her? How disgusting is that. What were you thinking?"
"I don't know."
"Well, figure your shit out, 'cause she doesn't deserve that."
"Why're you all acting like she's some angel? She isn't. She fucked up too, you know. A lot."
"Because you don't know what she's been through. We grew up with her. Small town, people talk."
"What do you mean?"
"She went through a lot of shit at a young age. I guarantee at one point or another we all overheard our parents talking about her." I look around at everyone, they're all looking at their hands as she talks.
"What happened to her?"
"That's not for us to say, idiot."
"Then what the hell am I supposed to do?"
"Talk to her." She rolls her eyes.
"But what do I say?"
"I don't know, figure that out for yourself. We should start the movie now." Sean starts scrolling through Netflix until we all agree on a movie to watch
