As soon as I was out of Zoey's sight, I pressed my hands onto my face again, that was so embarrassing.
She probably thought of me as a weirdo now for trying to open her locker like that.
I reached Ms. Woods' classroom and threw my things onto an empty desk but as soon as I saw Zoey walk into the class, I quickly picked my things up and placed them next to another girl. I didn't want to have to sit next to her and have to explain myself and try to prove to her I wasn't some crazy stalker.
The girl I sat next to was a skinny pale girl like me. We were about the same heigh but she had this short wavy blue hair with bangs that covered her forehead. She had eyeliner smeared onto her eyes and a dark shade of lipstick on her lips. She looked up to me, taking her eyes off the book she was reading to meet mine.
I sat down next to her and crossed my arms again, like I did in Mr. Harrison's class.
All of the students scrambled into the room as Ms. Woods shut the door to the class.
Our English teacher was this chubby woman with small red rectangular glasses that were pressed against her face. She had frizzy dark grey hair that was placed into a tight ponytail.
"Settle down everyone, we have a lot of work to do today".
I looked behind me, searching for Zoey, wondering where she was sitting.
Suddenly, I spotted her sitting next to the group of girls from Mr. Harrison's class. The group of girls wearing tight pink sweaters that had long blond hair that reached their belly buttons.
The girl next to me turned to face me. "What are you staring them down for?" she asked.
I turned my eyes from Zoey and her group of friends. "You know who Zoey Patterson is?" I asked.
The girl crossed her arms and turned her head to Zoey. "Of course I know who she is. Zoey Patterson's is Westfield's perfect student. The captain of the cheerleader team, class representative. She's got it all".
When you say it like that, you're making her sound like a classic mean girl, I thought to myself.
- Is she supposed to be Regina George's copy?
- No, Zoey Patterson isn't a mean herself, she just has mean friends but that's kind of the only people you hang out with when your an A+ student and a cheerleader.
"Ladies, pay attention. Class isn't over yet" Ms. Woods yelled.
We both turned around to face her.
"I'm Willow by the way, Willow Thorn". The girl whispered.
I smiled, "Rowan Sinclair" I responded.
