Its been a few weeks since the Halloween party. Zoey still didn't give me any news, but I don't plan on rushing her or anything. I definitely would like to go out with her, even though I have no idea how she feels about that idea.
The bell rings and I sprint to my locker, brushing against classmates to reach the door, including Dana - who has been giving me dirty looks recently, I feel like Zoey knows why but she wont tell me.
I reach my locker to find Zoey waiting, her eyes lighten up with passion. Without a word, she grabs my hand and leads me to the bathroom. We lock ourselves into a bathroom stall and I gently press Zoey against the wall, its basically routine now since Zoey and I have been doing this everyday since last week.
One hand on Zoey's neck, the other placed on the wall next to her. She has her fingers dug into my thick blond hair, using them to pull me closer to her.
The kissing become more passionate but fades away quickly when we hear the bathroom door open. Now this was new.
Zoey climbs up onto the toilet seat and in silence, we both wait for the person to leave.
- Rowan? Is that you?
I turn to Zoey, my eyes filled with worry. What do I do? I try to tell her. Zoey directs me to the stall, she's probably right - I shouldn't just stand there like an idiot, this person obviously recognized me and has something to say.
I open the stall door and step out, quickly closing the door behind me - Only to meet Dana's cold hazel eyes.
- Dana? What's going on?
She crossed her arms and leans against the bathroom wall.
- What is up with you and Zoey? I keep seeing you guys together.
- Were friends. I answer quickly.
Dana steps closer, arms still firmly closed.
- I know for a fact Zoey isn't a lesbian so whatever spell your trying to cast on her to make her fall in love with you- quit it.
In silence, Dana walk out of the bathroom, leaving me stunned.
Shortly after, Zoey steps out of the bathroom. Her eyes looking guilty and anxious.
- What was that about? I asked
Zoey doesn't meet my eyes, arms crossed she stares blankly around her.
- Zoey what happened?
Zoey snaps. "At the Halloween part, Dana saw us go into that room and come out holding hands. When I got back from walking you home - she was all over me, attacking me with questions".
- And what did you tell her?
- That were friends, just like you did.
I cross my arms. Friends, right. Friends that meet up everyday to make out in a bathroom stall.
The bell rings, breaks over.
I force a smile to Zoey and walk away.
