"How is it?" Yunho asked, his eyes smiling like he'd just given me a puppy

"How is it?" Yunho asked, his eyes smiling like he'd just given me a puppy. His cheeks were wind-burnt from the run in the snow, and his eyes were a little teary for the same reason. He looked cute, cozy even.

I took a sip of the hot chocolate, my eyes instantly shutting as I hummed in contentment. The warmth of the cup seeped into my frozen fingers, and the rich sweetness melted on my tongue. "It's delicious, Yunho," I told him, smiling. "Best I've ever had."

"Good," he grinned from ear to ear, his breath coming out in visible puffs of air. "Let's hope it stays hot the whole subway ride back to the hotel," he laughed, his voice light despite the chill in the air.

I had nearly forgotten about that. My eyes shifted to the window as I cuddled the cocoa close to my chest, trying to keep the warmth for as long as I could. The city outside was dusted in snow, everything bathed in the golden glow of Christmas lights strung from lampposts and trees. I glanced out at the street, assessing where we were and what the fastest route back to the hotel might be, already mentally preparing for the cold walk back.

But then I realized something that made me smile. "Yunho," I laughed, unable to help the amusement in my voice.

"What?" he asked, sucking a bit of chocolate off his finger, clearly pleased with himself.

"Look across the street," I said, trying not to laugh.

"What? At the park?" He squinted, watching people coming and going from the Christmas market stalls, their arms full of gifts and ornaments.

"No," I giggled. "The other side. Look!"

Yunho ducked down a bit to look out the window, the blinds partially obstructing his view. When he finally saw it, he chuckled, shaking his head.

The hotel was right there across the street. We'd somehow ended up practically next door.

As we stepped out into the crisp evening air, the park greeted us with the smell of gingerbread and cinnamon. Handmade Christmas ornaments hung in the stalls, their colors bright under the twinkling lights. Couples strolled arm in arm, children darted between them with sticky hands, and laughter echoed through the park as families gathered around the booths.

I felt at ease, my heart light as we passed by the holiday decorations. I'd never seen so many. They were beautiful. I decided that if I was still working for Yunho by Christmas that my next want would be a Christmas tree...I'd never had one before.

Dmitri was still unloading things from the truck when we arrived, and I offered to take the dress inside. He smiled and said he'd meet us up in the room as he headed off with an armful of bags.

Just as I reached out to pick it up, a sharp, shrill shout pierced the air...my name, loud and unmistakable. The sound sent a shiver down my spine, making every hair on my body stand on end. I froze, my hand hovering over the fabric of the dress, and slowly turned around, my stomach already knotting.
