"Charlie?" Yunho knocked on the door persistently.
"Yunho I'm busy packing!" I shouted back, hoping he hadn't seen my bag downstairs.
"Charlie? Can we talk?" he asked again. I wish he'd just go away. Pretending like he gave a fuck was worse. It made it harder when I saw so clearly that he didn't.
"Later! I'm busy!" I called out, hoping he'd just go away.
"At least let me give you your assignments for the day," he pleaded.
Fuck. My job started today...
I sighed and sulked over to the door, seeing no choice but to obey him. I opened it just a tiny sliver and mumbled, "Hand it here," as I stuck my hand through the door.
Yunho smirked in amusement. "I didn't write it down, Charlie."
I pouted in annoyance. "Then go write it down and bring it back," I snapped before shutting the door again.
It had barely clicked shut before he was knocking again.
"What now?" I groaned as I flung it open.
Yunho didn't wait even a second before walking in with his arms crossed as he stared in disappointment that I couldn't distinguish between real or fake. "Is that any way to talk to your employer, Charlie?" he cocked a brow.
My heart raced anxiously. I didn't want to be in trouble on my first day but hearing him call himself my employer pissed me off even further. Is that all he was?
"So we're not friends?" I asked, my voice cracking at the end of the question though I hid it with a well-placed cough.
"We are but..."
"Because you said if you got in at a decent hour last night that you'd come by to see me and you didn't, even though I know you got back before midnight so..."
"How do you know that?" he asked.
I could've punched myself for giving that away. "Know what?" I tried to play off.
"How do you know what time I got back last night? Were you waiting up for me?" His voice was soft and full of pity. I hated it.
"No. You and your date were just obnoxiously loud. Thanks for waking me up," I lied.
"We were loud?" he laughed.
"Yes! So loud actually that I think earplugs should be included in the hazard pay."
"Oh really?" he teased as he leaned back against the wall, looking far too attractive and casual for someone I was angry with. "What kind of noises Charlie?"
"Yunho..." I narrowed my eyes at him. "You know..."
"No. Explain please," he motioned for me to elaborate, starting to look more upset than amused as he clenched his jaw.
