I woke up at 7 and rolled myself out of bed to brush my teeth and fix my hair. I needed to finally start doing the job Yunho had given me, and that meant waking up Mingi...even if it was early and I hadn't slept well.
The whole night, I kept thinking about our almost kiss, and each time, my heart would flutter and my hands would get sweaty from nerves. I could feel myself blushing in the dark just imagining what could've happened if Mr. Road Rage hadn't honked his horn.
Maybe we would've leaned in and let our lips actually brush. Maybe he would've cupped my cheek and moaned a little. Maybe he would've pulled over so we could kiss more...
"Fuck!" I dropped my toothbrush and splattered toothpaste all over the counter. I grabbed the towel to clean it up.
I really couldn't focus whenever I was thinking about him... which felt scary. I'd never been this attached to a person before...and he had been so awkward last night.
I frowned, wondering if it was just the trouble I'd caused or if he regretted it... maybe he'd gotten close enough...
I set the toothbrush down and slipped a bra under my shirt. I didn't feel like getting all dressed up to wake up the big bad wolf, but I needed to put in a little effort. I ran a brush through my hair and threw it into a bun. I looked messy but decent.
I snatched the room key off the counter and went to find Mingi's room.
It felt weird intruding on someone whom I barely knew while they were doing something as intimate as sleeping...
When the door opened, I could see very little because of how dark it was. His clothes were strewn about and he was snoring loudly. I tiptoed to the bed so as not to disturb him and whispered, "Mingi?" once I reached him.
He didn't move... he didn't even flinch. He let out another snore and continued dreaming.
"Mingi," I said a little louder.
Still, he remained asleep.
I sighed and hoped I wasn't crossing a boundary. I shook his shoulder a little and repeated his name again.
He grumbled something I couldn't make out and turned away.
"Mingi, they need you to head down to breakfast," I told him, speaking at a normal volume.
"Fuck breakfast," he mumbled with a yawn before pulling the covers over his head.
I wanted to laugh at how stubborn he was. Here was this massively tall man who was pushing thirty, and he was being a grump about getting out of bed. "Mingi, you're going to get me fired if you don't get up," I warned.
