They wake like they do most mornings now. Austin will pull her in a little tighter, and somehow, she will land up under him as he pushes into her gently. She will cling to him as her body melts, a soft smile on her lips, and her heart going a million miles a second. Mornings are her favourite part of the day. Once he has sent her back arching and her eyes rolling back in her head, they slip out of bed to the shower. Then she will pick a new buckle and place it near the basin before she pulls clothing from the closet and gets dressed for the day.
Her mornings are so different from before Austin. But they feel so normal at the same time, and it's as if they have always been like this, and the past feels like a distant memory. She stops near the front door then turns and scans over the trailer, her lips pulling into a soft smile when Austin pops out of the bedroom as he places his Stetson on his head. She likes her life right now. Yes, Isla is still missing, but other than that it feels a little perfect and makes her a little giddy. "Alright?" Austin asks stopping in front of her with a questioning face. Her smile widens and she nods. "Yeah, everything is alright," she whispers as he pulls her into his arms. "You are very affectionate," she mumbles as his lips find her neck. She is not complaining, though, and giggles when he nips her neck gently before he lets her go and opens the front door.
Louis and Becky are waiting near their truck for them, along with the other men, as they get ready for their day. Becky looks like she is trying to hide her laugh while Louis looks to be in a bad mood. Dillon suspects it has something to do with his dinner. It's insane how seriously they take it, Austin has asked her twice this morning about what she plans to make. She has kept her mouth shut, but it looks like Louis and Austin are about to gang up against her as they whisper, then turn with sombre faces and lock eyes with her. She ignores them and climbs into Austin's truck, shutting and locking the door behind her while Becky giggles. They are ridiculous.
They head out to the new ranch house and Dillon avoids both men for as long as she can, but Louis eventually catches her off guard and corners her. "Whats for dinner?" he asks. Austin puts his tools down and turns his full attention to this conversation. "I am making a three-course dinner. I am very excited about it," Dillon says with a grin while both Louis and Austin remain sullen-faced. "Correct me if I am wrong, darlin', but the man asked what's for dinner, not how many courses or how excited you are," Austin says while Louis nods. Dillon's mouth drops open, and then she turns to look at Becky. She is blown away by how seriously they are taking this. Becky shrugs with a grin. "The men demand a good evening meal," she says rolling her eyes. "Well, the first course is sushi," Dillon says, hiding her laugh behind a grin. "What the hell is sushi?" Louis asks, he does not look impressed.
"It's raw fish wrapped in rice, wrapped in seaweed."
Both Austin and Louis' faces scrunch up in disgust. "We only eat fish when we camp. Cooked fish," Austin says. "Well, now you don't. The second course is lobster Thermador, and for dessert, I am making a Baked Alaska - you light it on fire," Dillon manages to get out without laughing but has to bite down on her tongue when both men grunt in disgust. "I am not happy," Louis announces then spins on his heel and walks away. "Will you take me into town after lunch to get all the ingredients please?" Dillon asks. Austin gives her a dirty look and then rolls his eyes before he, too, turns on his heel and walks off.
"Miss Dillon, I don't think the town will stock any of the ingredients you will need for dinner."
"I know that, Bex. I am not making any of that for dinner. I am making T-bone steak, it will still be bloody when I serve it to them."
"Oh...why did you tell them about the raw fish and lobster?"
"Because those two men are spoilt. Let them stew for the day."
