Stepping In (Star Wars AU)

Chapter 4

Third Person

Aayla landed her ship at the Chandrilan palace. She picked up Shaak Ti and carried out  of the ship. Two guards stand at the ramp with their blaster ready.

"Please. My friend needs help." Aayla pleads.

"Let her through!"

Aayla looked behind the guards. A woman in a long white dress walks towards the ship.

"Get a doctor!" 

Mon Mothma yelled at the guards. They ran into the palace. Mon Mothma puts her hand on Aayla's shoulder.

"Come, my friend."

The Chandrilan Senator guides Aayla to the Medical Ward. A doctor runs up with a stretcher.

"Hurry! She doesn't have much time!"

Aayla puts Shaak onto the stretcher. Once she does, the doctor runs off.

"Don't worry. I heard rumors of her during the Clone Wars and if she's anything like the rumors say, then she will be fine."

------3 Hours Later------

The doctor walks out with a grim face. Aayla instantly got worried.

"She was in critical condition when you brought her here. I did all I could and I have managed to saver her for the time being but I don't expect her to make it through the night."

Aayla's head dropped. Tears well in her eyes. The only Jedi she had seen in years is going to die. Her friend, no less! Aayla felt Mon hug her.

"It will be alright. Shaak is strong."

"HEY! GET BACK HERE!"

Aayla looked up. A Thotholian and a Mirilian are running from the guards who are chasing them. It took her a few seconds to recognize them. They run up to her and the guards try to put them in cuffs.

"Stass? Luminara?" Aayla asks unbelievably.

Mon told the guards to stop tring to cuff them once she heard Aayla say there names.

"Aayla! There is no time to explain right now but I have to heal Shaak Ti. She will die!" Stass told her.

Aayla didn't ask questions but guided them to Shaak who was in a bacta tank. Stass put her hand on the glass and closed her eyes.

Stass sat there for hours until she opened her eyes.

"She will be okay. She will wake in a few days."

Aayla smiles and hugs Stass and then Luminara.

"It is good to see you both."
