Stepping In (Star Wars AU)

Chapter 2

Third Person

"Lord Vader. I have discovered a Jedi long thought to be dead."

'Another?'

"Who my master?"

"You don't seem surprised."

"I have learned to not underestimate the Jedi."

Sidious seemed to accept this answer.

"Very well."

"Who is it my master?"

"..... Plo Koon."

"Plo Koon?"

"Yes. I'm sending you and three star destroyers to Dorin. Be careful. He is a master swordsman. He wasn't on the Jedi Council for nothing."

------Dorin------

Plo Koon looked up at the sky. Three star desroyers orbit the planet. He sighs.

'They found me.'

Plo picks up his comm and contacts the senator of Dorin.

"Senator Klihl. Have you seen the star destoryers?"

"Yes I have."

"I sense Darth Vader is aboard. He is stronger than me. I need you to contact the Rebel Alliance to send a fleet. I will keep Vader busy for as long as I can. Plo Koon out."

Plo looks towards the sky again.

'I hope I can hold Vader back long enough.'

Dozens of gunships land on the planet. Plo ignites his lightsaber.

'I haven't used this since the Clone Wars.'

Plo gathers the Kel Dorian soldiers. There were only about one thousand. Not nearly enough to defeat them. The soldiers charge. Some using blasters, some using spears. Plo stays back.

'I need to save my strength for Vader.'

Then ten Kel Dorian soldiers fly backwards. Plo could feel there deaths in the Force. Plo ignites his lightsaber. A black suit stomps forward. Darth Vader. Plo slightly bows.

"Darth."

He didn't answer instead ignited his lightsaber.

Vader rushes towards him. Plo jumps over him and swipes at his head. Vader blocks it. Then a Rebellion Fleet come out of hyperspace and start attacking the star destroyers. Vader and Plo Koon continue to battle as the Rebellion fight to destroy the star destoryers.

"Sir! The shields are at 50%!"

"Keep firing!" General Dodonna yelled.

"General! We have lost two frigates and one star cruiser!"

Dodonna growled.

"Keep firing! WE CAN WIN THIS!!"

One of the star destroyers explode.  Dodonna smiles in victory.

'One step closer to winning this battle.'

Another star destroyer explodes. The only ship left is Vader's personal ship, the Executor. Smoke billows out from holes in the ship. Then the ship turns around and heads into hyperspace, retreating.

Dodonna smirks.

"Send gunships to take care of the ground troops."

Dodonna orders.

Plo Koon narrowly dodges a blade to the stomach. Plo jumps onto a building and uses the Force to throw rubble at him. Vader moves out of the way. Plo looks at the batte. The stormtroopers are all but dead. Plo looks at Vader but he wasn't there. Plo senses danger and jumps just in time to avoid a killing blow but not before cutting his lightsaber arm.  Plo drops it and kneels onto the ground with his other hand grabbing the injury. Vader jumps from the building in front of Plo Koon, his lightsaber next to his neck.

"The once mighty Jedi Master has fallen." Vader boasts.

He lifts his blade to strike Plo down but the Rebels start shooting him. Plo uses the Force call his lightsaber to him. He ignites his lightsaber and aims it at Vader.

"It's over Vader!"

Vader uses the Force to accelerate his jump. He lands behind the Rebels.

'There are too many.'

Vader runs to his own personal ship. Plo watches as Vader escapes.

"He's just as cowardly as Grievous." Plo says in disgust.

A rebel handed Plo a bacta patch. He puts it where the injury is. Plo boards a Rebel gunship, flying towards the Rebellion's flag ship. The gunship lands an he meets a man. The man sputters.

"Your Jedi Master Plo Koon."

"Yes. I am."

"But your dead!"

"Obviously I am not."

"Oh. Well Mon Mothma and Bail Organa are waiting for you. Oh! I am General Dodonna."

Plo nods as the man leads him to the communications room. A hologram of a woman, who he recognized as Senator Mon Mothma of Chandrila, and Bail Organa, Senator of Alderaan. They both bow.

"Master Jedi."

Plo bows.

Three other forms join Mon Mothma and Bail Organa.

"Master Yoda! Obi Wan! Ahsoka!"

"Glad to see your alive, we are."

"Koh-to-ya Master Plo."

"Hello old friend."

"I am glad to see other Jedi." Plo says.

Mon Mothma speaks up.

"We are asking you to join the Rebellion."

Plo smiles.

"I will."

They all smile.

"Masters Yoda and Obi Wan will explain everything when you get here." Bail says.

"See you soon." Plo says.

They nod and the hologram is gone.
