Chapter 17

"You dare show your face after you killed her."

"I did not kill her. You did that yourself."

"You betrayed the Republic. All the Jedi did. And what's worse, you betrayed your own padawan, Anakin Skywalker."

"The Jedi's allegiance was never to the the Republic or anyone. It was to democracy! I never betrayed you Anakin! Palpatine corrupted your mind! He turned you against your family!"

"You will not fill my head with lies. I am and never was Anakin Skywalker. He is dead."

"You really are gone. You even went to such lengths as to kill your own living family. Your mother would be disgusted."

"Do not talk about my mother! They are not my family. They are street rats who's father married my mother. I will hunt you and that old green troll down and take pleasure killing you both. Then I will rid the galaxy of the Jedi. Beware Obi Wan."

The comm flickered off.

------Deep Underground on Naboo------

The woman slumped against the wall, being held up by the chains on her wrists. Graying hair was covering her face. She looked surprisingly young for being 52 years old.

"Have you finally given up?" Palpatine asked.

The woman head snapped up to look into Palpatine's yellow eyes.

"Never!" She hissed.

Palpatine smiled a cruel smile as he shot lightning at her.

"More fun for me then." He croaked.

She screamed. He stopped after a few minutes.

"Why..why can't you l.let me g..go?" She asked, struggling to catch her breath.

"We've been over this."

"If what you say is true than it doesn't matter! He's gone! Consumed by darkness! But if you won't let me go than maybe it isn't as true as you say. Maybe he's not completely gone. Maybe you fear if he sees me alive than he will turn back to the light."

Palpatine's smile disappeared. He shot a bolt of lightning at her before turning to leave the room. He stopped before he left.

"You're wrong. He's mine."

As soon as he left she put her legs against the wall making it look like she's standing on the wall. She pulled as hard as she could trying to break the chains.
