The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over the room. Taehyung shifted beneath the blankets, groggy from sleep, as the warmth of the bed cocooned him. He blinked his eyes open slowly, feeling a sense of peace he wasn't quite used to-until he turned over and found himself face to face with Jungkook, who was sound asleep beside him.
Taehyung's eyes flew wide open, his mind scrambling to make sense of the sight in front of him. Jungkook was lying on his side, facing him, his expression relaxed and peaceful in sleep. His arm was draped over the space between them, dangerously close to Taehyung's shoulder, as if he had naturally moved closer during the night.
"W-What the-" Taehyung mumbled to himself, trying to control the sudden rush of panic that shot through him. He sat up quickly, clutching the blanket to his chest as if it could shield him from the confusion spiraling in his mind.
Jungkook stirred at the movement, a sleepy smile tugging at his lips before he opened his eyes. He glanced up at Taehyung, who was staring down at him with a mixture of shock and embarrassment. "Good morning, Tae," he drawled, his voice still thick with sleep. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
Taehyung's cheeks flushed red as he tried to form a coherent response. "W-Why are you here?!" he blurted out, his voice coming out higher-pitched than he intended. "I-I thought you were sleeping in your room!"
Jungkook let out a lazy chuckle, stretching his arms over his head as if he hadn't a care in the world. "I was... but I got lonely," he admitted, his grin turning playful. "So I decided to slip into the guest room with you. It was a better option, don't you think?"
Taehyung gaped at him, utterly speechless. "B-Better option?!" he spluttered, his mind reeling. "You- You can't just-"
"Oh, but I did," Jungkook interrupted, his smirk widening as he propped himself up on one elbow, leaning closer to Taehyung's flustered face. "And you didn't even notice, did you? You must've been sleeping really soundly, Tae."
Taehyung felt like his brain was short-circuiting. He couldn't decide whether to be embarrassed, angry, or something in between. The fact that Jungkook had snuck into his bed without him realizing it was mortifying enough, but the fact that Jungkook seemed to find it so amusing made his face heat up even more.
"I-I wasn't... it's just-" Taehyung stammered, trying to find an excuse, but every thought slipped away under the intensity of Jungkook's teasing gaze. He buried his face in his hands, unable to look at Jungkook directly. "You're impossible," he muttered, his voice muffled against his palms.
Jungkook's laughter filled the room, warm and unrestrained. He reached out, gently prying Taehyung's hands away from his face so he could see the blush that painted his cheeks. "Come on, don't hide," he teased, his tone turning softer. "You look cute when you're all flustered like this."
Taehyung squeezed his eyes shut, wishing he could disappear into the bed. His heart was pounding too fast, and he couldn't understand why Jungkook's teasing seemed to affect him more and more each time. "Jungkook, you're... you're too much," he mumbled, but there was no real anger behind his words-only a breathless frustration that he couldn't quite place.
Jungkook's expression softened as he studied Taehyung's reaction, a hint of fondness creeping into his teasing smile. "Maybe I am," he conceded, leaning in closer until their foreheads nearly touched. "But I don't think you'd have it any other way."
Taehyung opened his eyes at the nearness, feeling a shiver run down his spine at the way Jungkook's breath mingled with his own. He swallowed hard, trying to steady himself, but the proximity was overwhelming. "I... I don't know about that," he managed to whisper, though his voice lacked any conviction.
Jungkook chuckled softly, pulling back just enough to give Taehyung a bit of space. "Well, too bad, because you're stuck with me for the next three days," he said, his smirk turning wicked. "And I'm going to make the most of every single moment."
Taehyung's heart skipped a beat, his mind whirling with the implication of Jungkook's words. He glanced away, trying to hide the way his blush deepened, but he couldn't ignore the warmth that spread through his chest. As much as he wanted to deny it, a small part of him couldn't help but look forward to whatever Jungkook had in store.
For now, though, he needed to figure out how to survive the rest of the morning without turning into a complete tomato. He cleared his throat, trying to regain some semblance of composure as he slipped out of bed, heading towards the bathroom. "I-I'm going to get ready for the day," he mumbled, avoiding Jungkook's gaze. "You... you should do the same."
Jungkook watched him go, a satisfied smile tugging at his lips as he leaned back against the pillows. "Sure, Tae," he called after him, amusement coloring his voice. "But don't take too long. I'm not done teasing you yet."
Taehyung shot him a flustered glare over his shoulder before quickly disappearing into the bathroom, his heart still racing from the unexpected wake-up. As he splashed cold water on his face, he couldn't help but wonder how he was going to survive three days under the same roof as Jungkook-especially when Jungkook seemed so intent on pushing all of his buttons.
But despite the embarrassment and the constant teasing, a small, traitorous smile tugged at Taehyung's lips as he thought about the way Jungkook had looked at him. Maybe, just maybe, there was a part of him that didn't mind being teased so much... as long as it was Jungkook doing the teasing.
