Ch 221 - Phenex Barbecue (1)

Jin and Aikas' engagement was announced to everyone, from their family to their friends and they couldn't be happier. Rias and Sona even booked a reservation at a famous restaurant to celebrate the engagement. Though to be fair, it wasn't only for Aika, but Mittelt too. Both girls were engaged to Jin. Only fair as they were the first two people to be friends with him and develop feelings for him. The food was made in large quantities and they all stuffed themselves full. Especially Jin who seemed to eat as if the restaurant was a buffet. Only Rias coming in second to the quantity he ate of food.

But after being stuffed full, it was back to having a nice relaxing week. Jin often relaxed with his foxes Hinata and Taiki. Relaxing with the Youkai Kunou and Koneko. Kunou of which was back in the Underworld having spent time with Yasaka and being back in Urakyoto.

However, the summer holiday was far from over. There were still many things for Jin and everyone to do. The summer was getting close to over, but they still had things planned and things were still destined to come their way. One of the things they had planned, was the Phenex Family Summer Barbecue. An event not only for the Phenex family but for the surrounding Phenex territory. As well as Jin and his friends, who Ravel invited.

Stood outside of the Gremory residence, everyone was ready to go. Ready to taste the flavours of the Phenex family flames. Everyone stood with Venelana and Zeoticus as they were coming too. There were things they needed to discuss with the Phenex family and they too wanted to enjoy the event. Jin had come to know the Phenex family and Gremory family were surprisingly close.

Zeoticus: {To think he was engaged to two others already. If he does end up with Rias. We're going to need to have a serious conversation. I might bring Sirzechs just to make the conversation more intimidating.} Is everyone ready?

Zeoticus said as everyone stood close together. They were all in normal casual attire besides Venelana and Zeoticus who were the only ones attending the event as nobles. Whereas Rias and Sona wanted to go as just casual nobodies. Hanging out with their friends.

Everyone: Ready!

Everyone said as Kunou was on Jin's shoulders. The smallest and youngest so she had priority. He didn't want her to get lost in case there was a crowd. Koneko was holding his left hand and Aika, his new fiancé was holding his right. Mittelt standing with Akeno and Sona. Taiki and Hinata stood in front of Jin. Everyone was ready and Zeoticus could see they were all eager to go to the Phenex barbecue.

All besides Rias who was extremely worried. She wanted to enjoy this with her friends, but she couldn't help but worry her secret may be revealed. To which Venelana put her hand on Rias' shoulder. Smiling. Rias could tell her mother knew Jin and she had a thing. Rias could tell her mother approved of him.

Placing her hand on Rias' shoulder. It was her way of saying to relax. That everything was going to be okay. Venelana had a lot of different thoughts about how things were going to end up. You could say she was optimistic whereas Rias was being pessimistic. So Rias took a deep breath. Trying to relax.

Rias: Ready!

Rias said in the outfit she wanted to wear. An outfit which did get a blush from Jin. Now it only needed to have the effect of him clinging to her.

Zeoticus: Then let's go. Enjoy the barbecue.

Zeoticus said as a red magic circle appeared below all of their feet. One large Gremory magic circle. Going up their bodies as they disappeared from in front of the Gremory residence. Going to the Phenex Castle.

Scene change

Appearing in a red magic circle, everyone appeared in front of the Phenex Castle. In the centre of Phenex territory, their entire vision of the sky in front of them was blocked by the imposing dark architecture. The castle stood tall and proud, representing the families' pride and their power in the Underworld.

The castle was made from dark stone that gave off a powerful presence. It had towering spires that reached high into the sky, almost like they were pulled out of fairytale books. You would have thought the castle a fortress looking at it. There were large, intricately designed arched windows evenly spaced along the walls. Stone structures adorned detailed carvings and embellishments, reflecting the nobility of the Phenex family.

The surrounding gardens were expansive and meticulously maintained. Filled with exotic plants and fountains. Grand stone staircases and pathways winded through the grounds, leading to the castle's large door. The entire castle radiated the Phenex Clan's dominance. But looking at the people, it also showed some warmth, similar to their fire.

Because within the gardens, there were countless people. Tables and chairs were set up, with people enjoying food in groups. Almost as if a party was being held. The Phenex Family Summer Barbecue. However, Jin noticed security wasn't abandoned. Some devils that walked around weren't here to enjoy the event. They walked around like security. Jin could tell they were strong. The same security was at the doors of the castle, so no one could enter.

Venelana: Now enjoy every one. Rias I hope you enjoy it too. I know how much you like meat.

Rias: MUM!

Rias said with a red face as she didn't like being teased about the fact she ate a lot. But to Venelana, Rias was her little gluttonous baby. One Jin liked as he had placed Kunou down, who was busy marvelling at the castle. A medieval castle compared to the Japanese-style castle in Urakyoto. Hinata and Taiki stayed close to Kunou, protecting her. Koneko was with Kunou and Jin placed his two hands on Rias' shoulders. With Rias looking up at Jin with a red blush.

Jin: We'll make sure to eat lots. You may need to give the Phenex family financial aid with the amount we'll eat.

Rias: Jin!

Rias said getting even redder in the face. She didn't eat that much. It was incomparable to the amount Jin ate. However, the amount Rias ate was incomparable to others.

Venelana: Just have fun you two. We'll be going ahead.

Venelana said as she joined arms with Zeoticus who seemed to stare daggers at Jin. Slowly taking his hands off Rias' shoulders Zeoticus smiled. Walking away with Venelana.

Jin: {Here I thought the mother was supposed to be more protective of their daughter.} Well, how about we head in? We'll find a table to seat us all, then we'll start the feast.

Mittelt: Aren't you supposed to be finding that small girl who invited you~. What was her name?

Akeno: Ravel~.

Mittelt teased Jin as she looked at him. She was convinced he had a type. Small girls. But as much as he said he didn't, she wouldn't believe him. Even loving people like Rias and Akeno who weren't small, she still wouldn't believe him.

Jin: I'm sure I'll find her where the food is being cooked. She's part of the Phenex family after all. She might be one of the ones cooking.

Akeno: A small girl who cooks. You're really looking for the whole package aren't you~.

Jin didn't even bother entertaining it with an answer. Looking away as Akeno smiled. Because what Jin did wasn't a no. It was a "I don't have to explain myself." Simply, not answer was an admission of guilt to Akeno. One that made her giggle.

Sona: I think he has far too many lovers to be complaining about him having a few more.

Akeno: Oh no, I wasn't complaining. I was encouraging him~. There's nothing I like more than seeing Jin happy. Besides, I think Ravel could be a nice addition to Jin's heart~. One Jin would definitely like to bed~.

Akeno said as she caught a glimpse of Jin's red-hue face. Smirking at Jin's reaction as the thought of it definitely entered Jin's mind. Ravel wasn't just cute, she seemed really kind, he owed his life to her, quite literally. Now Akeno put a naked image of Ravel in his head. He couldn't help his small blush.

Jin: Let's go Rias! We're going to eat till the Phenex family's broke!

Jin said holding onto Rias and walking away. Akeno, Mittelt and Aika giggled at Jin flustered. Walking away from becoming even more blushed. While Sona sighed, walking off with them. Koneko was holding Kunous hand, while Kunou was looking at the castle. Very bad but fun ideas going through her mind.

Then Rias was smiling widely. Maybe the outfit wasn't the reason for it. But Rias was successful and didn't have to do anything.

Jin was now clinging onto Rias. Holding onto her as they walked to get food and find a table.
