Ch 246 - Magical Girl

While Mittelt was going to be late back home, unlikely to arrive back on the same day, before 00:00. Other people were also going to be late, working in the dark. For the first time in a while, the Jin household was quite empty. Kunou hadn't received any homework yet as it was her first day, so it was just her and Jin relaxing together. With Kunou sitting on his lap, cuddling up to him as they watched a movie together. A blanket over them. A wholesome and peaceful moment.

However, there was a reason everyone was out. Mittelt was protecting those who possessed Sacred Gear, feeling an obligation to do so. But those who were more Devilish, were doing something more befitting of a Devil. While they would arrive back home, likely earlier than Mittelt, the Devils in Jins household still had their jobs to do under their king. Duties, Kings, Queens, Rooks and Pawns alike needed to do.

While Devils weren't genies, they still had the job of granting clients' wishes. Devils were summoned by humans and the Devils' job was to satisfy a human's desire, the reason for their summoning.

This was called, Contracting.

As Sona said, she has familiars she puts to work unlike Jin, letting Hinata and Taika relax. Sonas used her familiars who could turn into humans, having them hand out pamphlets with Sitri magic circles on. Any human could take one, but the magic circle only activated to a desire one had. Summoning a Sitri Devil to help a human satisfy their desire. Contracting made up Devils hierarchy. The more contracts a Devils had, the higher up they would be. One could even contract enough to become a noble.

Contracting was used in many ways. But all of them ended up being for one reason. To gain more power.

And contracting was something Aika had fun doing from time to time. Doing it much more now than ever before. She was going to be doing it much more often because, over the summer, she had her own desire she wanted to fulfil.

So completing a contract, she was sitting on a wooden floor, surrounded by one thing, one colour. Lots and lots of pink. Specifically, the type of pink that almost glowed, a bright, blinding colour. There were pink bed sheets that might have glowed in the dark, there were many pink books on small pink bookshelves. There were pink shoes with stickers and charms. Pink toys, from dolls to fluffy animals big and small. Pink posters decorated nearly every inch of the room. Even a blond-haired girl with two long ponytails was wearing pink. Wearing pink Magical Girls dress. Sitting on her pink bed, Giggling away.

The small girl was one of Aikas' contractors. Rina, a 10-year-old girl.

Rina: Again, again!

Rina cheered, looking down at Aika with a wide smile. The smile was bright and her clapping was loud. Every time Aika was around she was excited. What Magical Girl-obsessed girl wouldn't be excited with a Devil around? Not only that, Rina knew Devils and magic were all around her, Aika was wearing a Kuoh school uniform. Others said magic wasn't real, but Rina would kindly say they could suck it. She has a Devil right in front of her, one with bat-like wings out.

As Aika looked at the girl, she smiled. Making a blue magic circle in her hand disappear in gentle shards of light. A light construct of a horse galloping disappearing too. Slowly fading in what looked like fairy dust.

Aika: Now now, I'll only show you the next spell, if you can show me you practised what I taught you. {She should be able to do it. Rinas a remarkable girl. Ah! I hope I can teach my children! If it's with Jin, they'll be so adorable and talented!}

Aika sat on the floor with her legs crossed. It might have been obvious by now, but Rina wasn't interested in becoming rich and famous, she didn't want to find the love of her life, nor did she have a school crush. Rina's desire was simple, but at the same time, very complicated. Something only Aika could fulfil. Neither Rias' peerage nor Sonas' other peerage members could help Rina with her desire.
