Before Mittelt met Jin, she, Raynare and a few other Fallen Angels were assigned to do one thing in Kuoh and the surrounding villages and towns. Monitor Sacred Gear holders. Specifically, those who had yet to awaken them and had the potential to be brought into Grigori. As Jin knew of Sacred Gear, they are rare. Not a dime a dozen. But Grigori had their methods of finding holders of them. There were some within Kuoh who had Sacred Gear, and others in villages and towns around Kuoh that had Sacred Gears. It was Mittelts job to monitor them and find that less than 1% of the human population who held them.
Mittelts job was to observe, analyse and report. Or what Jin would call, stalking.
She knew not only of the Sacred Gear holders she monitored previously, but she knew of the ones other Fallen Angels monitored. She was told others information and at times, she rotated monitoring duties with others. Like her, too tired to get out of bed.
But looking down at a street, in another town close to Kuoh. She never would have expected Rouge Priests to be gathered by Raynare. Those in clergy robes holding weapons no normal priest should carry. Golden crosses on their necks, some wrapped around their fists. Ready in wait. They stood in the dark as if prepared to pull someone inside the darkness. They were like monsters, ready to devour their prey. Yet they didn't know of the predator thinking of them as prey.
Because for every predator, they were the prey of another.
Priest 1: The woman should be coming down past this alley any second. If the information Dohnaseek provided is right, she's on her way back from work.
Priest 2: Name, Hana. The defining features she has are her long wavy black hair and dark green eyes. Small in height but busty in figure. Often wears high heels because she's self-conscious of her height despite her age.
Priest 3: She should be fun to play with before we give her to Raynare. Raynare said to capture her alive, but she never said we couldn't play with them a bit beforehand.
The priests laughed as they acted nothing like priests. They were disgusting. They stained the names of priests and the practice of the church. All 7 of them had some sort of evil intentions with the poor woman. They would have got to do whatever they wanted to her, kill her even. That would be the case if there wasn't a Guardian Angel looking over those that are special.
Mittelt: You're forgetting some important pieces of information. She has three children. Two boys, one girl. She's a single mother and is best friends with her neighbour who helps look after them while she's at work. A nice old cat lady who values those three children like her own children. She always carries a self-defence tool with her after she was assaulted on a bus to work and has 3 years of experience in women's self-defence classes. Overall, she was deemed ineligible to bring into Grigori.
Quickly all the priests turned around as in the dark of the alley, walking out into the moonlight, Mittelt stood there with a smile. Looking at the plain and ugly faces of the priests that dirtied the name of the lord. There was no question why they were so desperate to get a piece of an innocent woman.
Anyone would be desperate if they looked like road kill.
Mittelt: I doubt I needed to help her. You're all trash anyway. However, you can forget about your plan. A "small" girl was on the phone, complaining to her dear old daddy that this road was closed for construction. So she's not coming anywhere down this street. She might be home already, taking a bus that goes a different route.
Mittelt said putting her finger to her lips, smiling in a sinister smirk. The priests looked in disbelief. Not only because their entire plan was ruined, but because they knew of the person in front of them. Someone that was supposed to be on their side.
