Blackout

Your POV

You were sitting on the ground beside Kai and Cole. The two of them were going through piles of junk in Ed and Edna's place. You were helping before, but a larger pile of junk had fallen on top of you, which was traumatizing. It was kinda funny how the two boys thought you drowned.

"We've been digging for so long, I think I forgot what we're looking for!" Cole groaned, pausing in the act of tugging something out from the bottom of a taller stack.

"A jiggly compact compress converter. Or was it a compress compact jiggly converter? Whatever it is, if it can get us back to New Ninjago City any sooner, it's worth finding." Kai was struggling to pull a sort of air pump out. He gave it a great tug, and with a rumbling sound, both tall heaps of assorted objects tumbled on top of them. You dove out of the way before you could get covered a second time.

"Sh*t," you sighed, unable to see their red or black gis at all. You began putting boxes and rusted pieces of metal aside to unbury your friends.

"We shut off the power thinking we could just waltz in but no. We didn't stop to think we were a bajillion miles away." The Blue Ninja and his father was standing on another pile of junk not too far away. "Hey! A compacted converted jiggly compressor!" Jay exclaimed.

You pulled Kai and Cole out from a cascade of stuff, dragging them up the pile Jay was on.

"Ah! Great find, kiddo. Now all we need to adapt that hover copter's power supply to solar power is an upside down rotter derouter-ma-bob and a whiz-bang automated amplifier!"

"What the f-"

Kai and Cole groaned in sync, cutting you off. "I'm starting to think they're just making this stuff up," Kai muttered.

After finding that... rotter derouter bob thing and the whiz-bang thing, whatever you didn't know, you all went down to the Ed and Edna's caravan, where Zane, Jay, Nya, P.I.X.A.L, and Edna were. Well, Kai and Cole were still recovering from the buried-alive-under-junk incident.

You opened the door to let everyone in, then heard the conversation inside.

"My processor is fully operational. The Perfect Match for Nya isn't Jay, but Cole."

"Cole's her perfect match?!" Jay shrieked, his voice a mix of shrillness and cracking. The silence that rang after was deafening as everybody processed the information.

"Jay..." Nya softly said, stepping forward, her hands ghosting his. The Lightning Ninja didn't say anything.

You turned your head to the footsteps crunching on gravel beside you, seeing Cole and Kai stride in. "Ha, it's so quiet in here. What did I miss? Another signature Jay Walker gut buster?" Cole said jokingly. Clearly, he wasn't reading the room.

"Oh, you backstabbing, no good...! YAAAAH!!!!" Jay lunged at Cole, knocking him back onto the floor. His expression was of pure disbelief and anger, while Cole's had quickly changed to a shocked one. Both of them struggled on the floor of the caravan. Cole had no idea what Jay was attacking him for.

"What's wrong with you?!" Cole yelled, trying to push the younger boy off of him. Jay was much stronger than he let on.

Kai sighed, facepalming into his gloved hand. "I hope Lloyd is faring better than us."

You all watched Cole and Jay thrash each other without stopping them, not knowing how to calm the infuriated Jay. After about a minute, when punches were beginning to be thrown and bruises were formed, you and Kai separated the two of them by holding Jay back with a lasso and Kai dragging Cole out of the van.
