Chapter 6 - Gossip (Part 2)
Justin’s P.O.V.
My granddad picked me up at 3 o’clock and took me to the Avon Theatre. I was looking forward to it because I hoped the girl would come. To my disappointment when I arrived she wasn’t there. So I sat and played staring out to the other side of the road. Half an hour passed and still no sign of her. When I was about to give up hope she appeared. My heart leaped and started running a marathon. I didn’t really know why, I guess I was really happy she came. Again she had those sunglasses on that covered her face. It would be nice to take them of and look into her eyes, which I’m guessing are as beautiful as her. Wow, wait. Hold your thoughts Justin.
She went to stand by the same tree. She propped her hand up against it and was holding he side like she had a stitch. Then I realised she must of ran to not be late. She saw me looking and smiled. I smiled back. I really need to know who she is.
After around five minutes whilst I played my songs, I started to wonder if she will ever come over here and talk to me, because at the moment it seems like she’s glued to the pavement. Then a car pulled up right next to her, she looked at it and hopped on board.
Then my heart fell. I was stupid to think she’d come back to see me. She just happened to be here and so am I, but she must of come to wait for that car. I suddenly lost the fun of playing so I finished my song and packed away early. I texted my friend on my way to granddad’s car.
Hey Ryan. Wanna go sports centre and shoot some hoops?
Sure, what time?
We can pick you up now
Great. I’ll c u then
Yeah c u in a bit
If I was to get my head of the girl, the only way to do so was to go shoot some hoops.
Trisha’s P.O.V.
I hopped into my dad’s car still fighting with a stitch in my side. I didn’t realise that running that short distance would make me so tired.
“What are you doing here dad?” I asked my father he never usually just appears.
“I was on my way home and I saw you, and it looked like you were looking for a way to get home, so I stopped” he said giving me a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. He’s lying.
“Dad, you don’t have to lie to me. Mum sent you didn’t she?”
“Well yes. She said she didn’t know what you were doing and that you weren’t picking up your phone. So she asked me if I could go home and see if you were there and if everything was okay”.
I pulled my phone out my pocket and sure enough there were six missed calls from my mother. I must have been distracted whilst running so I didn’t hear it ringing.
“Well as you see dad I’m okay”.
I was kinda angry, because I had ran all that way and I only heard him sing one song. When I got into the car he looked really upset. I probably imagined that though. I mean, why would he be upset?
“What were you doing just standing there anyway?” my father demanded.
“I was listening to the boy singing. I said earnestly. There was no lie I could say here.
“Why?”
“I like the way he plays. And he can sing really well”.
“So you’re saying that you spent yesterday evening here as well?”
