"So you purposely put on a shirt with my ex on it?" Karlie asked and Jo grinned as she took some of Karlie's fries. Jo ordered a salad which she regretted now.
"Yup. You like it?" Jo grinned and Karlie shook her head laughing
"You're a savage." She grinned and Jo scrunched her nose, a habit she'd copied off of Taylor and Karlie sighed
"They are all wrong, you look like Taylor, not like Gracie.""How'd you know?" Jo asked, taking a sip of her ice tea and Karlie sighed
"I knew a lot about your, let's just say family history, I knew your biological moms name was Katie, I knew your dad had an affair, I also noticed once Gracie got famous how similar you guys looked and I started doing my research, it was pretty easy to piece it all together.""It's weird." Jo muttered and Karlie nodded
"Do you see them a lot?" the brunette model asked and Jo shook her head
"I see Gracie, on occasion but not more than I saw her before I found out. I haven't met her-my brothers and yeah I don't think I want to know the woman who chose her marriage over me even though she knew I was going to be unwanted in the house I was going to have to live in." Jo rambled down and Karlie felt a wave of sympathy for Jo, the little girl with whom she used to play Barbie's."Taylor is your family. Believe me, she loves you more than anything." Karlie said and Jo could hear the sincerity in her voice but it wasn't very convincing, it sounded strange and distant. But lately that's what every conversation involving Taylor sounded like to Jo.
"I don't think she does anymore." Jo said,
a hint of sadness in her voice
"When do you think she stopped?" Karlie asked, quickly fixing a little mascara that was smudged under Jo's eye."When you broke up. She was always so sad and bitter and then it got even worse with the tour. And then Travis came along and it just ruined everything." Jo grumbled and Karlie sighed seemingly knowing where this conversation was headed
"Sweetie, it's been five years, I'm married with kids now, and Taylor, she adopted a child with her boyfriend. They are serious too." Karlie said quietly and Jo just refused to believe this, she never once believed it
"But Taylor still loves you and you still love her." Jo said quietly and Karlie placed a comforting hand on her shoulder but Jo shrugged it off, not wanting a connecting to Karlie in that moment.
"Sweetie, I love her and I always will and you and I both know that. But alot of things happened and there are multiple reasons for us not be together anymore. Her career being one of them." Karlie said, kissing the top of Jo's head, and the brunette teen just stared at her blankly, without a real expression on her face and yet the disappointment was obvious.
"I'm tired of her career ruining everything." Jo muttered and Karlie sat up a little straighter
"Jo, what are you talking about?""It's just she's always busy and you know how she kind of pushes me away and it's just always career first anything else second." Jo muttered and Karlie sighed, clearly understanding Jo's situation
"I am not gonna pretend that I do not know what you are taking about. I know Taylor and we both know what she can be like. But you're complaining about Taylor not spending enough time with you, and that is understandable, but your idea is to not spend time with her and not see her to make her feel guilty and when she asked you to meet up, you said no. Do you realize how dumb that is? You're doing the exact same thing." Karlie said and Jo crossed her arms, there was no denying that Karlie was right to some extent.
"But she's gonna be weird about it." Jo grumbled, the truth was that Karlie was right, and Jo knew and she was also out of arguments
"I'm sure you've had to deal with weirder things." Karlie said and Jo crossed her arms over her chest, clearly not thrilled with what Karlie was saying.

Taylor sighed, she had been trying to reach Jo non stop, nothing ever worked. Taylor knew she probably had to give up, Jo would come around eventually. But she couldn't stop. Jo was her whole world.
Taylor tossed her phone onto her pillow and made her way into her closet. Inside the closet Taylor stumbled over a pair of heels, before finally making it all the way back into the closet, where she found a box, labelled 'Josephine' .
Taylor had always been very neurotic about making sure every little detail of Jo's memory box was perfect. Yet she hadn't looked through it in years, she only ever added new things. Taylor sighed, opening the lit of the box and the memories hit her in an instant.
The first thing she took out was the baby book, she had made it together with Abigail when Jo turned two. In it were so many pictures of the first two years of Jo's life.
As soon as Taylor opened it, the first picture she saw was the first time she had held Jo, in the hospital. She had been so scared, she was sure she was gonna break Jo. Jo seemed to be relaxed around her.
A couple pictures later showed Abigail holding Jo for the first time, clearly way more confident, now looking back Taylor realized the only reason Abigail was so confident in what she was doing with Jo, was because she had absolutely no clue what she was doing wrong, Taylor could immediately see Jo's head wasn't supported and now it made a lot more sense why Jo looked so grumpy in the picture. That was the day were Abigail had said that Jo didn't look like a Josephine; she was Jo. At first Taylor had made fun of her, she never thought the nickname was gonna stick.
Taylor flipped through more and more pictures, birthdays, Christmas, first steps, first time sitting, all those memories she lived through with Jo. She had tried so hard yet she still failed.
