Mano looked surprised to learn that Kash was Stella's ex, the one she'd mentioned so many times. Lost in thought, he saw the two guys with bats tapping them menacingly against their palms, while the others cracked their knuckles, as he took a couple of steps back.

This wasn't good. He'd been in situations like this before and knew how it would end. Six against one. They had weapons; he didn't.

What could he do? Run? First of all, they wouldn't let him. Second, running wasn't his style. He wasn't stupid enough to just stand there and get beaten up, but what other option did he have?

His honey eyes glanced at the young men in front of him as he continued stepping back.

"What's the matter? You leaving? Oh, come on, the party hasn't even started yet" Kash mocked.

"All this over Stella?"

"Listen, I want you to understand exactly why this is happening. First, you took my girl. Second, you spilled coffee on my shirt and beat me until I was bleeding. So, tell me," he said sarcastically, his steps stopping. "If you were in my place, wouldn't you want to beat the shit out of you?" The six of them started closing in on him slowly.

Shit...

"Well? I'm waiting for an answer"

"You started it. You and your friends, thinking you can bully anyone you want" Mano snapped angrily.

"Bully? Pfft" Kash laughed, and the others joined in. "We were just messing with Ody a little. That's not bullying"

"And the coffee you threw at him?" Mano's gaze was sharp, making Kash sober up instantly.

"If you hadn't interfered, none of this would've happened. Ody just takes it like a good little boy. We didn't plan on hitting him until you showed up"

With his eyes half-open and a hostile look, Mano kept backing up as they advanced toward him.

"I want to ask you something, and I want an honest answer," Kash gestured for his crew to stop.

"Did you freak out so much about what we did to Ody because you've been through it yourself?"

Mano's steps halted, the surprise on his face clear.

"Yeah? Did I guess right?... Looks like our little tough guy used to get bullied. Tell me something... Why were you bullied? Because you're an orphan?" The second he finished the sentence, rage filled Mano's face.

He stood there, glaring at him furiously before charging at Kash and landing a punch to his face with a shout. The others shoved him off and started hitting him. Mano managed to fend off the first two, but they grabbed him from behind, pinning him down. He yelled angrily, struggling to break free, when Kash threw a punch to his face, snapping his head to the side.

"From now on, I want you to be an even better boy than Ody. Otherwise, we'll come find you again," he punched him. "And beat you again," and again. "It's up to you if this continues. And from what I know, you're all alone. I can bring more people to fuck you up real bad" Kash's fist landed in Mano's stomach, and he groaned in pain.

"And if you try to act tough and interfere again... I'll beat Ody even worse than I'm beating you" He spoke slowly, menacingly, and Mano met his gaze with hatred.

It was over. Two guys held him while the others stood by, and the last one kept hitting him. There was nothing he could do.

"And as for Stella... I know how you treat her. If you don't start acting like a gentleman around her, you'll get the same treatment again"

"You're not gonna tell me... to stop seeing her?" Mano managed through the pain.

"Even if I did, would you listen? As long as she wants you, there's nothing I can do. But until I win her back, you're going to treat her like a gentleman. Got it?" he threw a hard punch near Mano's lips before they let him fall to the ground, with Kash's two college friends kicking him in the ribs.
