Mano's honey eyes were fixed on Ody the moment he heard what had just come out of his mouth.
Ody's laughter slowly subsided as he looked back into Mano's eyes. "Wanna try again?" he asked, picking up the chopsticks.
"No!" Mano pouted, turning away with his arms crossed.
"Come on... Even Anna hasn't learned to use them yet, but I think you can do it" Ody said, pulling Mano's hand and handing him the chopsticks. "How about trying the uramaki?"
"Speak Greek, damn it!" Mano snapped, making Ody laugh.
"It's the one with the rice on the outside and the seaweed inside" he explained.
"No. It'll fall apart, and the rice will end up everywhere" Mano replied, pouting and looking away, while Ody smiled broadly.
"Okay, okay. Then try grabbing the sashimi. I think that's the easiest"
"Which one's that again?" Mano turned to look at him.
"The one without rice" Ody said, pointing to the plate.
"The raw one?"
"Yep"
"I don't like that. You're the one who wanted to order it"
"Don't eat it, just try to pick it up"
Mano sighed in frustration and positioned the chopsticks in his fingers.
"Wait..." Ody said, taking Mano's hand again to adjust his fingers properly. "Okay, now go"
Mano focused on the sashimi in front of him, carefully placing it between the chopsticks.
"Keep the pressure on your index finger so it doesn't slip" Ody instructed.
Mano began lifting the sashimi, and it stayed securely between the chopsticks. "I got it!"
"Good job" Ody grinned as Mano continued raising it until it was level with their lips.
"And now?"
"Bring it here" Ody said, leaning forward with his mouth open, eating the sushi Mano was holding.
As Ody chewed, clearly enjoying it, Mano froze, holding the chopsticks mid-air. Glancing awkwardly around, he checked if anyone had noticed.
"Why don't you like it? It's amazing"
"Here are your noodles" the waiter said, placing a plate of chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce in front of them.
"Can you bring me a fork? I'm gonna starve over here" Mano asked the waiter, who chuckled along with Ody.
"Of course"
"Why? You've got it now" Ody said.
"Yeah, right... I managed to pick up one piece of sishishi. The noodles are slippery"
"One what?" Ody burst into laughter, and Mano shot him a murderous glare.
"They're going to kick us out of the restaurant if you keep laughing like that"
Ody tried to stifle his laughter but was clearly struggling. "Sishishi!" he repeated, breaking into fits of laughter again.
"Will you shut up?" Mano hissed through clenched teeth, but it didn't help. "Stop making fun of me, man!"
Ody raised his green eyes to meet Mano's, still laughing. "I'm not making fun of you... You're just hilarious"
"Here's your fork" the waiter said, setting it down and walking away.
