"Please, don't do this..." Kash pleaded after what Ody had just said, but he just stared at him coldly.
"You did it. You and your sister"
"I told you there's no reason to worry. Without me, she can't hurt him, and I'm not going to help her" he tried to reassure him.
"I don't trust you, Kash" Ody said, shrugging, and he sighed, lowering his gaze.
"If the professor hadn't shown up this morning... what would you have done?" he asked, making his eyes lock onto Ody's green ones.
"What do you mean?"
"You know exactly what I mean. Would you have told your friends to stop, or would you have hit me just to put on a front?" He looked at him like he already knew the answer, and Kash averted his gaze, thinking.
He'd really want to tell them to stop, to leave him alone, but he knew exactly what he would've ended up doing. He couldn't afford to look weak in front of them. He couldn't let them realize he pitied him or—worse—that he liked him.
"I-I wouldn't have messed with you that much..." he muttered, too afraid to meet his eyes.
Ody let out a sarcastic chuckle, shaking his head.
"You're unbelievable. I honestly have nothing else to say to you. Just go" his voice was almost empty.
Kash looked at him sadly, hoping for one last chance.
"Come on, Kash. Leave" Ody spoke calmly but with zero patience, looking away, ignoring him.
Kash slowly started walking toward the door, placing his hand on the handle, when Ody's voice stopped him.
"Can I ask you something?"
He turned to look at him, waiting.
"Now that I'm kicking you out... do you stop caring about not hurting me?"
"What do you mean?" Kash frowned in confusion.
"I mean, you promised not to hurt Mano because I was the one who asked you to, and gave you the chance..."
"No," he shook his head firmly. "I'm not going to hurt Mano again. I promised you, and that doesn't change"
Ody nodded, studying him seriously, and Kash opened the door and left.

The next day, he went out for a drink with Anna, and they talked about all sorts of things—especially the upcoming holiday trip that was getting closer. Anna seemed thrilled about it since she'd be going with so many friends.
That night, they went back to Ody's place together as she was staying over.
The lights were dim, the atmosphere romantic as they kissed.
And yet, after two years of kissing her without thinking about anything else... why was Mano suddenly on his mind? And Kash, who had left kisses on his chest?
Anna pushed him down onto the couch, her hands reaching for the zipper of his jeans.
Later, as they lay side by side, he thought about what he'd felt while making love to his girlfriend. He liked it. He wanted it. There was nothing about it that put him off.
"Baby, I'm gonna make something to eat. You hungry?" she asked.
"Yeah, babe"
She got up, slipping into her underwear and clothes.
"You studied for tomorrow? Last exam, right?" she asked as they sat down to eat together.
"Yeah, last one. I'm ready"
