Chapter 34 (Alabasta Arc)

The giant's shields smacked into each other's faces with an ear splitting crack that rang out across the island, marking another draw for their continued streak. Their bodies fell to the ground with a teeth rattling crash but was quickly followed by their shared laughter. "Jabababa!!!" "Gegyagyagyagya!!!"

After a few minutes, Broggy happily stomped his way back through the forest to the campsite. He plopped down with the navigator and sniper while he began wrapping up his wounds.

Ki kept her eyes trained on the trees while Usopp chatted with the giant. Her stomach twisted, 'I know someone else is here. But who? Those Baroque Works fools again?' In the distance there was a loud explosion, followed by an even louder crash that shook the ground beneath her feet. Her brow furrowed, "That wasn't the volcano, hopefully everyone else is alright."

Nami eyed the raven haired woman while Usopp kept rattling off questions to Broggy without a care. She called out, both with concern and curiosity, "Hey, Ki? Everything okay?"

Ki shook her head, not sparing a moment to even glance in the navigator's direction as she murmured, "Not sure," She was startled as the volcano violently sounded again with its trio of eruptions, signaling the giant's next fight. Her eyes flicked to Broggy as he rose to his feet with a wide grin, already ready to go again.

The giant chuckled, "Jabababa! Welp, there's the signal. It's really been active today."

Usopp let out a pained whine, "You're really going? But your wounds from the previous battle haven't even healed!"

Broggy brandished his ax and shrugged with a huge toothy smile, "Please! Dory can't be doing any better than me! Jabababa!! A few scratches wont take me out of a duel! That would sure make me a poor excuse for a brave warrior! Jabababa!"

Nami crossed her arms with an exasperated sigh, "Guess men are all the same, no matter the size. Huh, Ki?"

Ki's gaze flicked to the redhead briefly as she hummed, "Yeah, sure," She tucked herself between the dinosaur skull's teeth to get a better view of the area without being noticeable from above.

The navigator frowned with an indignant huff, "She's not even listening to me."

Broggy tossed his ax over his shoulder with a wide grin as he peered over the treeline for his opponent, "Alright then, I'm off! Jabababa!!"

Usopp excitedly cheered with his hands cupped to the sides of his face, "Now, Master Broggy! Go and show this guy!!"

The giant threw back his head with a jovial laugh while the sniper mimicked him, "Jabababa! You bet Usopp! I'm gonna beat him for sure this time! He hasn't got a chance this time!"

The sniper waved his arms high in the air as he hollered, "Go get 'em you great warrior of Elbaf! The mighty Broggy always defeats his opponents!!" He turned and continued cheering the giant on as he stomped away, "You can do it, Broggy!! You're the mightiest warrior in the world! You can destroy him any day! You're gonna crush him! Go warrior Broggy! Fight like the proud warrior you are! Go Master Broggy!"

Nami creased her brow and held a hand over her eyes as she watched the giant trudge through the forest, "Why does he continue this pointless fight?"

Usopp shrieked, "How can you possibly say something like this is pointless?! He's a brave warrior just like I'm gonna be someday!! You have no right to say anything you idiot-"

The navigator shrugged as she rose to her feet, "Well now we can think about getting back to the ship. Waiting for a year?" She shook her head and creased her brow, "There's no freaking way, it's completely unacceptable. We need to get everyone back on the ship and come up with a plan."
