Chapter 52 (Alabasta Arc)

Ki blinked the sleep from her eyes as she slowly sat up. She was met with Ace holding out her clothes, and flashing her a grin, "You might wanna get dressed. Everyone is starting to stir. I already heard Luffy messing with some kind of animal outside."

She quickly dressed and followed him out into the morning desert air. Her hair was immediately whipped to the side aggressively and she winced, "Dammit, already with this?."

Ace held his hat and eyed the sky, "Looks like the winds picking up again already."

Vivi let out a horrified gasp and shouted, "Everyone! Hide behind the rocks, quick!!"

Luffy tilted his head in confusion, "Huh? How come?"

The princess ran to the opposite side of the rock faces as she screamed, "The sandstorm is coming!!"

Ace held a hand over his eyes with a huge grin as he chuckled. Ki smacked his arm while she shielded her eyes with her other arm, "Don't look so excited about that!!"

Straw Hat sat in awe watching the wind, "Woahhhhh! That's cool!"

The gail snatched Chopper from the ground with a loud squeak. He flailed his arms and cried, "Help! Help! The winds got me!!"

Ki grabbed the boy and clutched him to her chest as she snatched Ace by the wrist, yelling to the others, "Listen to Vivi! Get behind the rocks!" Once they were all shoved to safety she marked off the crewmembers and groaned, "Where's Zoro?"

Nami had been abruptly dragged from her own tent by the princess. She shouted, "He must still be in his tent!!"

Sanji attempted and failed to light a cigarette a couple times before tucking it back in his pocket. He shrugged, "Forget the Mosshead. Every man for himself."

Ace side eyed the blonde as he rushed to the edge of the rocks, "I'll get em!"

Ki slammed his back against the rock and shook her head, "I've got this. You're not going anywhere," She leaned around the rocks, instantly being sandblasted. She shook her head and snapped, "Show me Roronoa Zoro," She unceremoniously dragged the swordsman through the rift as soon as his image appeared, tossing his snoring body against the rock.

Zoro sputtered awake and snarled at the Window Maker, "Hey! What's the big idea, witch?!"

Ki angrily lifted the swordsman by the collar, shoving his head up into the whipping gusts as she shrieked, "That, you asshole!! You're lucky I grabbed you!"

The swordsman writhed in her grasp until he dropped to the ground, coughing the sand from his lungs. He grunted angrily, "I didn't need your help. I was doing just fine."

Ki got in his face and snapped, "I should just throw you out there! You'll never find your way back to us with your shit sense of direction!"

Luffy slowly climbed up the back of the rock, squinting as he shouted into the wind, "Okaaaay!! Enough with the sand already! I'm not impressed anymore!!"

"I should've mentioned it earlier! Sandstorms are another of the desert's dangers!!" Vivi called out to the crew.

Usopp screeched as he struggled to stay upright, "You gotta start remembering this stuuuuuuuufff!!"

The wind suddenly changed directions, swooping around the rocks, as if on purpose to attack the group. Ki and Vivi let out a sharp gasp, "Look out!"

Everyone suddenly was scooped up and thrown across the open sand in different directions by the sudden flurry. Ki watched her crewmates tumble around, with nothing to grasp onto they were at the wind's mercy.
