"Yes, I can't see any difference at all. For a moment, I really thought you were her," she replied.
"Who was she to you?" I inquired, noticing the sadness that flickered in her eyes.
"I'm lily and She was my best friend, more then a sister to me, and...I failed her.." she said whispering the last words so broken and pushed, I looked at her in disbelief.
I can't believe I kept meeting everyone that knew eve, it was like I attracted them. For some reason too o was curious, I wanted to know what had happened to her, I wanted to, Dominic had said she was belive to be dead, not he didn't but that and he mad mention, of something behind being his wife's disappearance.
"How did she die?permit me to ask?"I asked as I looked at her, I wanted to know what wa happening and who this woman was everyone kept relating me to, I mean I have seen her portrait even I can't belief we share a great resemblance.
She hesitated for a moment, her fingers tightening around the steering wheel as she navigated the winding road away from the chaos of the city. "Eve was... she was my best friend," she finally admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "We grew up together, shared everything. But then she just... disappeared."
I could hear the weight of her words, the pain etched into her features as she spoke. "I thought I lost her forever. I never got to say goodbye."
"I'm so sorry," I said softly, feeling a pang of guilt for the resemblance that had caused this emotional upheaval. "What happened to her?"
She took a deep breath, her eyes flickering to the rearview mirror as if expecting someone to be following us. "She got involved with some dangerous people. I tried to warn her, . One day, she just vanished without a trace. I've spent years searching for her, hoping she'd turn up."
I felt a chill run down my spine.
"Do you think she's still alive?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly.
"I have to believe she is," she replied, her voice firm but laced with uncertainty. "But every day that goes by, it gets harder to hold onto that hope."
"I'm so sorry to hear that"I said and she nobbed.
"I'm so sorry to hear that but how are you so sure she is alive?" I said I was feeling sad for Eve, I knew it was the same woman who was married to Dominic, wvery one I met belived that she was alive and I wanted to know why.
"No you don't need to be..hee body wasn't found at the accident site, so inside of an accident, it became a crime scene" she said and I gasped as I soaked in the information.
"Which means..." I said with wide eyes as the information hit me.
"She may be alive," Lily proclaimed and I could feel myself start getting dizzy.
