I noticed his eyes light up with joy like child receiving candy; his excitement was palpable, while I felt a wave of anxiety about what lay ahead.

"Great, let's kick things off with a date. I'll come by to pick you up soon," he said, leaning in to plant a gentle kiss on my forehead before stepping out. As soon as he left, I took out the diamond piece.

This jewel felt like it held a deep significance for me; gazing at it was like looking into a reflection of my very soul, leaving me momentarily speechless.

Fear washed over me as I realized I truly belonged here. This place was once my home, and Dominic had been my husband. The mere thought of the past sent me spiraling, and I felt lost, unsure of my next steps.

Suddenly, the door swung open, and I turned to see Harper storming in, her anger evident. I sighed, knowing she wasn't here for a friendly chat; she likely wanted to confront me.

As she approached, I met her fierce gaze with a smile. She wore a striking red dress that accentuated her figure.

"Is it true?" she demanded, standing right in front of me. I looked up, clearing my throat.

"What are you referring to?" I asked, feigning ignorance about her inquiry, but I could see the fire in her eyes.

"Don't play games with me. I need to know if you're Eve or if you're just pretending," she snapped, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

What if I am? I asked her as she moved closer, her gaze locked onto mine without wavering.

"Don't ...play...games with me..." she stressed each word, her eyes piercing into mine, as if warning me, though I felt indifferent. Deep down, I had a nagging suspicion that I was somehow involved, and even though it frightened me, I was compelled to understand why she seemed so terrified of me.

"I asked you a question. Why are you so afraid of whatever I might be?" I pressed again, watching as she paused, her fists clenched in frustration. She let out a laugh, turning back to face me, her expression a mix of disbelief and defiance.

"I'm not afraid of her, and I know you're not her..." she replied, a wide grin breaking across her face.

"If you were her, it would mean you're a coward, and looking at you, I know that's not true. So tell me, why are you still here?" she snapped, gripping my hand and shaking it roughly, as if trying to instill fear in me. I looked back at her, anger bubbling inside me, wondering why she harbored such hatred for her sister over something I didn't even understand.

I wanted to know. What were were like, what our reliefs like before all these went down.

I could see the fear and hate in her eyes and I knew she had a deep hatred for me, who was her sister.

What kind of person was I before this moment?

What truly happened?

How did I end up losing my memories, and why?

These thoughts swirled in my mind as I stood there, feeling foolish. Perhaps I was a coward for not embracing the fact that I was someone I couldn't recall. Yet, I refused to let her walk all over me. I realized she held a wealth of knowledge, and I needed to uncover what she knew; she might be the key to everything. I could see the fear reflected in her eyes.

What was causing her so much fear?

I was determined to find out, so I offered her a smile.

"Dominic wouldn't let me leave; he asked me to stay, and that's exactly what I'm doing," I replied with a smile, gently pulling my hand from hers as she held my gaze.

"Dominic? How dare you refer to him by his name?" she snapped, and I met her fierce look with a smile.

"What else would I call him?" I whispered innocently, watching her seethe with anger and resentment.

"Don! That's what he is a don!" she exclaimed, and I simply smiled back. I knew that Dominic wouldn't have a problem if I called him by his name, and I could see he would do anything to appease me.

I realized I had to tolerate her foolishness to see where it would lead, so I took her hand and offered her a warm smile. Even when all I wanted to do is, hit her hard.

"I wanted to leave, truly, but he pulled me back. I'm not your sister, and I never will be. Let's agree to keep things professional; if we collaborate, I believe I could vanish without a trace, and he would never find me," I said, fabricating my words. I noticed her eyes widened in surprise at my unexpected friendliness, and it brought me a sense of satisfaction to see her believe me.

"You seem to have a brilliant plan," she remarked as she began to pace the room.

"Do I?" I replied, and she nodded, settling into a chair beside my bed with a smile.

"It's clear you have no desire to outsmart him, so I'll assist you in escaping. In return, I need you to do something for me," she said, stepping closer once more.

"And what would that entail?" I inquired.

"I need you to make him fall in love with me," she answered, and I stared at her in disbelief.

I could never grasp the complexities of women. What did she mean by that, and why would she want me to help her do that.

Dominic seemed to be taken by me already, he wanted me and he had even set up a date for tonight and now she wanted me to make him fall in love with her.

"How? I'm confused; I thought you two were together?" I asked, noticing her fists clench in frustration, as if recalling a painful memory.

"We were... we were so close, so deeply in love, but..." she paused, her gaze locking onto mine, tears streaming down her cheeks. The pain in her eyes was palpable, and my curiosity only deepened.

"But what happened?" I urged gently.

"Eve, he never truly loved her. His father forced him into that relationship, and then they had to have a child. After that, he neglected me, pushing me away while she kept him. When he returned, he was a changed man, filled with hatred for her, yet she relentlessly pursued him. When she vanished, he was consumed by guilt, and that guilt twisted into anger directed at me. As a mafia Don, he had to uphold a perfect image, so he unleashed his fury on me," she cried, her voice breaking with the weight of her story.

"How did he express that anger?" I asked softly.

"He killed my son," she replied, and I gasped in disbelief.

"What!" I exclaimed by eyes wide as the truth hit me in the face.
