I pressed my hand to my mouth, sinking to my knees as the weight of the moment overwhelmed me. This was too much to comprehend; it felt impossible.

Was there a part of my life I had overlooked?

Was this stranger really claiming to be my husband? Deep down, I sensed something was off.

Perhaps I had a twin I never knew about, or maybe he was just toying with my emotions.

These thoughts swirled in my mind, but the idea seemed absurd. I had grown up with my parents, and just a year ago, I had fallen for Ivan during a beach trip.

He was the best thing that had ever happened to me, yet now this stranger seemed to have taken him away. Gathering my strength, I stood up to confront him. He looked at me with an expectation that made me uneasy, but I was determined not to be drawn into whatever game he was playing.

Who knows, maybe the picture he showed me was altered to deceive me into believing a falsehood.

"I don't know what kind of game this is, but I refuse to be a part of it," I declared, watching as he smirked and advanced toward me while I instinctively stepped back.

For a year, I searched the world for you, only to realize that you were right in front of me all along.

And you think I would play some kind of game with you, Clarissa? You are my wife, just as you have always been, and nothing will ever change that, he murmured slowly, a grin spreading across his face. He stood close, pressing me against the wall, his breath washing over me in waves that sent me into a panic.

Confusion swirled in my mind as I gazed into his eyes; I felt a strange familiarity, as if I had seen him in my dreams. Yet here he was, holding me captive, convinced that I belonged to him.

"I love someone else. Are you really going to keep me here just because of what you believe I am?" I asked, and he simply smiled at me.

"You will remember what you've forgotten, and you will be mine. Just give it time. For now, go to bed," he replied, leaning in to kiss my lips while injecting something into my neck. Within seconds, darkness enveloped me.
