Samuel POV:
He admired Abby watching Hogwarts with the magic of the first time.
— It's your school! It's a castle! With ghosts and magic classes!
— Yes! Abby?
— Yes? She turned around, still in awe.
— He smiled, cracking up at her like never before.
She cheerfully asked questions afterwards and he melted a little more.
— He said, when she mentioned houses. If I had to give you a house, Ravenclaw, the intelligent ones, those who like to learn, understand, the creative ones.
— Oh, yes !
— I wish you could see inside. I.... I thought, trying to come up with a plan. I could send McGonagall an owl and negotiate. No promises or the option of sneaking you in, but no cloak and that's going to be complex.
— Sneaking in is out of the question! I know I'm a Muggle, and if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't even have been able to get in here. I want to discover your world, I'm already here!
— I'm a Slytherin, I'm stubborn, I can tire out McGonagall trying to convince her. I've lots of other places I want to show you!
— What's on the programme?
— My favourite shop, the broom shop?
— She got excited. You... Let's go!
He really wanted to introduce her to Honeydukes, as she's very curious about magical sweets. She beat me to it when she saw the shop window, and he fell even more under her spell, as is possible with her. She didn't know where to look !
To top it all off, he showed her everything, taking a bit of everything to try out later. They went to pay to Henry Flume, he and Alice having taken over the family shop about two years ago.
— Samuel, that's a magic feather I see? she whispered, pointing to the quill, flying and writing for Henry.
— It's a papote feather," replied Henry, hearing her.
— She blushed, I'm sorry. Your shop is beautiful and wonderful. I'm a Muggle and I'm very admiring of your shop.
— Thank you. My wife and I are very proud of it.
He held out the money to pay, thanking her, before going out to continue exploring, having dipped a little into the package. At the cauldron, they joined his friends from school. He was a little anxious of their reactions.
Samuel gently squeezed Abby's hand as they approached. He sensed she was nervous, which wasn't surprising.
— What do I need to know?' asked Abby, her eyes shining with curiosity and apprehension.
He smiled, soothed by her naturalness. She always had a gift for asking the right questions, for wanting to understand everything.
— Pansy's a journalist like you at the Daily Prophet. You should get on well together. She's a bit... intense sometimes, but she's got a good heart. Theodore works at the Ministry of Justice. He's discreet, very shy. If you find him distant, don't worry, it's just him.' He paused for a moment before adding: 'Blaise Zabini, auror, magical police. He, on the other hand, isn't shy at all. Serious, but cool. And Lorenzo, he works in Quidditch. He's a sports agent, always joking around.'
Abby nodded, her fingers gripping his a little tighter.
— Okay, I see. I'm all set.
They walked through the door of the restaurant, and Samuel immediately felt the atmosphere vibrate with his friends' usual energy. As soon as they entered, Pansy stood up, elegant as always, her curly brown hair cascading over a lacy black dress.
