Samuel POV:
2013, 8 September
Samuel stood outside the school waiting for his daughter, Luna, who had just turned six. The children were coming out in small groups, and it wasn't long before he saw his daughter's little brown head emerge, beaming with joy, her gang of friends surrounding her.
— Daddy!' she cried, running towards him with open arms.
Samuel bent down to grab her and lift her into his arms, laughing as he did so.
— Ready for a snack?' he asked.
— Yes! I want biscuits!
Together they walked to the car, and Samuel couldn't help smiling every time he met his daughter's sparkling eyes. He knew she had an idea in mind, something exciting to share.
They headed for Abby's work, picking her up before heading home. The journey was filled with laughter and innocent questions about Luna's day at school.
Arriving home, they set the table for dinner with Astoria, Draco and Scorpius, dinner already prepared. They sat down at the table, Luna busy recounting her adventures of the day, as she was so good at doing.
After dinner, as everyone was getting ready to get up, Luna approached him, her mischievous gaze settling on him.
— Daddy, come on!' she whispered, gently pulling on his hand.
He followed her to her room, his heart warming at the obvious excitement of his daughter.
— I want to play a joke on Aunt Astoria,' she said, her eyes shining.
Samuel smiled, amused by the idea.
— How can I help you?' he asked, sitting down on the floor next to her.
She took out a list she had carefully written in her pretty, childlike handwriting.
— Look at this one!' she said, pointing. Flour in shoes.
— That's an excellent idea, Luna,' he replied, laughing. We'll take care of it!
Together, they set to work. Samuel distracted Astoria by telling her stories while she prepared the flour in Astoria's shoes, her little hand going to work with care. Abby saw this, keeping it a secret. Luna backed away, rejoining the living room, as if nothing had happened.
Evening was coming, Scorpius, tired on the sofa, next to Draco. Astoria got up, going to get ready, he made a discreet sign to Luna, who had already noticed him, waiting for the fall. She slipped on her shoe, removing her foot, now filled with white. He held back a laugh, but Luna didn't.
— Do I owe this to you?' she asked Luna, her gaze amused.
Luna nodded proudly, and Samuel couldn't help laughing. He played along.
— Yes, she's got a real talent for it!
Astoria leaned over to Luna and grabbed her for a tickle attack. Her laughter echoed throughout the house. Astoria stepped back and her sister watched her with a smile, rolling her eyes.
— And you're in it too? It's a lot less cute at your age,' she said, amused.
Samuel's laughter grew louder.
— It's my duty to keep annoying you and to help Luna do it,' he replied with a wink. At that moment, Scorpius, tired, dropped into Draco's arms.
— We're going to go now,' he announced.
— Goodbye,' he said, waving goodbye.
— I'll leave you with your gremlin,' added Draco with a knowing smile.
— See you soon, thanks for coming!' said Abby, before giving them a hug.
After their friends had left, Samuel and Luna found themselves cleaning up. To make the task easier, Samuel cast several cleaning spells. Luna imitated him, in all seriousness. Samuel smiled, his little witch. Abby laughed as she continued her sweeping. Luna began to spin around, repeating the spell.
— You're the best, sweetheart,' he laughed.
Finally, it was time for bed. Samuel settled down with her on the bed, reading her a story, his words taking Luna into a sweet sleep. When she closed her eyes, he placed a kiss on her forehead.
— I love you, baby,' he murmured tenderly, tucking her in.
After leaving the room, he turned to Abby with a satisfied smile on his face.
— I'll look after Luna in the morning, so you can get some sleep,' he announced.
Abby smiled at him, grateful, and let herself be carried away by the calm of the evening, with a light heart.
