-opening instrumental- Episode 6: The Swamp Demon -Ending instrumental- ————————————
"Are you sure this is the right place? It looks too lively for young girls going missing." I say as Tanjiro and I stand outside the village, our crows on our shoulders.
"This is the right place Ms. Kamado!" My crow whose name I've came to learn is Miwari (I made it up, no special meaning)
I hum not completely believing that statement but decide to not argue, especially with Tanjiro's asshole-ish crow next to me. Why did he get the loud and rude one? That doesn't suit his personality at all.
And for too lively for a village with at least 1-5 young girls going missing very night, I mean the villagers are performing their normal tasks and interacting with smiles on their faces as if young girls who are most likely my age or older are literally getting abducted and killed.
I watch as Tanjiro Approaches a man carrying a box of supplies onto a boat presumably for a delivery. I opt to not bother interacting with anyone so I walk to the walls and less popular areas of the village and look for any signs of a struggle or traces that would indicate a demon's trail. Times like this I wish I had Tanjiro's superhuman smell ability, at least I got mother's rock hard head.
Unsurprisingly I find little to nothing to tell me what path to follow to detect the demons usual path of terror. I've found a few oddly placed rocks and some pieces of fabric presumably from a kimono, socks, or hair accessory.
I groan in frustration and stand up heading back to the area I parted with Tanjiro, I hope he's gotten somewhere with this investigation.
Also why are these mission such a pain in searching information on? Can't we get a little more info on this mission?
I approach the same place as before and don't notice Tanjiro waiting there. I follow footsteps left by him in the gravel and see him talking with a distraught and traumatized young man, a look I know all too well, a look Tanjiro and I had on that day...
Putting my personal turmoil aside I jog up to the 2 and introduce myself "Hi I'm Misaki, my brother and I were tasked with solving the missing cases of the girls disappearing in this village." I say "Do you remember anything about what happened?"
Tanjiro gives me a look that says "That was my question." But I ignore his look as I keep my own trained on the young man In front of me. I can see his hands shaking as he grips a little tighter onto his kimono and bites his lip resisting the urge to break down.
"I'll show you where she went missing." He says
He turns around and begins walking, Tanjiro and I follow the young man to a pathway lined with stone walls with houses on the other side. The sun setting which tells us it's gonna be hunting time for this demon soon.
"So this is the area she went missing?" Tanjiro asks at which the man nods.
I can see the sun setting unusually fast in the distance, I turn around just in time to see Tanjiro get down on all fours and press his nose to the ground and sniff. I can't help but just stare at him in disgust and mild embarrassment.
