Sonic glared at the ceiling, his frustration boiling over. With a determined grunt, he spit out his gag, sending it flying across the room. "Amy! Help! Get us out of here!"

Amy exchanged an amused glance with Tails, then rushed over. "Alright, hold still!" she said, quickly untying the knots around Sonic and Knuckles.

As soon as they were free, Sonic shot up, stretching his arms with a triumphant grin. "Finally! Now let's get back at Shadow for that bullshit!"

Knuckles nodded, looking around the room for anything they could use. "I have an idea. Let's set up a trap! Something to really catch him off guard."

Sticks bounced excitedly. "Ooh! I can help! I have a ton of supplies in my backpack!" She started rummaging through her things, tossing out rope, random gadgets, and even a few cans of soda.

"Okay, what do we do?" Sonic asked, a devious glint in his eye.

"Let's rig it by the stairs," Knuckles suggested. "When Shadow comes down, we'll pull the cord and—"

"—Boom! He'll be caught!" Sticks finished, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

The three of them worked quickly, setting up the trap with a few ropes and cans placed strategically. They shared smirks as they positioned everything just right, anticipating Shadow's reaction.

"Let's just make sure we're out of the way when he comes down," Knuckles said, peeking over the banister.

Moments later, Shadow emerged from the upper floor, looking slightly disheveled but relaxed, a content smile on his face. "What's all the noise down here? I thought I told you three to behave—"

Sonic couldn't contain his laughter. "Yeah, good luck with that, Shadow!"

Just as Shadow stepped down the first few stairs, he spotted the butterfly plush—Perci's favorite—sitting innocently on the ground.

"Shit!" he yelled, realizing too late. He tried to dodge it, but it was too late. His foot slipped on the plush, and he stumbled dramatically, arms flailing as he went tumbling down the stairs.

"Whoa!" Sonic shouted, trying to brace himself for the impact, but he couldn't help but burst into laughter, followed by Knuckles and Sticks.

Shadow crashed to the bottom with a loud thud, landing in a heap, utterly disoriented. "What the hell?" he grumbled, pushing himself up as he shook off the dizziness.

But his annoyance quickly turned to horror as he glanced around and spotted the butterfly plush that had rolled away from him. "No! Not the plush!" he shouted, scrambling toward it, his heart racing.

"Dude, you just wiped out like a total idiot!" Sonic laughed, clutching his sides as he struggled to catch his breath.

Knuckles couldn't help but join in, his laughter echoing through the living room. "That was classic, Shadow! You should've seen the look on your face!"

Sticks, however, noticed the worry in Shadow's eyes and quickly sobered. "Uh, hey, is Perci going to be okay with this? I mean, you did just fall down the stairs like a sack of rocks."

"I'm more worried about her damn plush!" Shadow growled, grabbing the butterfly plush and inspecting it for any damage. Thankfully, it was unharmed.

As he clutched the plush protectively to his chest, Sonic called out, still giggling, "You know, that wasn't supposed to happen. You were supposed to get caught in the trap!"

"Yeah, but now you just look like a fucking idiot," Knuckles added, trying to stifle his laughter but failing miserably.

Shadow shot him a glare. "Shut the hell up, Knuckles. This isn't funny. I almost crushed her favorite plush!"

At that moment, Perci appeared in the doorway, her eyes wide with concern. "What's going on down here? Is everyone alright?"

Sonic quickly straightened up, trying to appear innocent. "Oh, just a little tumble! Shadow had an unfortunate meeting with the stairs."

Shadow quickly straightened up, hiding the plush behind him. "I'm fine, Perci! Just a little... misstep."

"Yeah, right. You mean the part where you practically flew down the stairs?" Sonic teased, shooting Shadow a knowing look.

"I swear I'll—" Shadow began, but Perci cut him off, her gaze falling on the butterfly plush in his hand.

"Is that my butterfly? You brought it down with you?" she asked, her eyes lighting up.

"Uh, yeah," Shadow said, sheepishly holding it out for her. "I, uh, I was just... making sure it was okay."

Perci giggled, and the tension in the room eased as she took the plush from him, hugging it to her chest. "Thanks, Shady! You're the best."

"Don't mention it," he muttered, still feeling a bit embarrassed, but the smile on her face made it all worth it.

As the group settled back into their comfortable banter, Shadow glanced at Sonic, who was still chuckling. "You better watch your back, Sonic. This isn't over."

"Oh, I'm counting on it!" Sonic shot back, his grin mischievous as ever.

"Just don't trip on another plush next time," Knuckles added with a chuckle.

Shadow rolled his eyes, but he couldn't help the smile tugging at his lips. As long as Perci was around, he could handle whatever chaos Sonic and the others threw his way.
