Sonic and Shadow finished off Eggman's robot with relative ease. It was almost routine at this point—Eggman shows up, makes a scene, gets beaten, and leaves with some dramatic speech about vengeance. As the robot exploded in a shower of sparks, the gang regrouped near the smoking wreckage.

Shadow, ever the strategist, pulled Perci, Tails, Knuckles, and Sticks aside, whispering to them while Sonic and Amy were still distracted with Orbot and Cubot's comedic retreat.

"Listen up," Shadow murmured. "Sonic's been acting like a complete idiot, and I'm sick of it. He's clearly got feelings for Amy, but he's too stubborn to admit it. We're going to fix that."

Knuckles raised an eyebrow. "Wait, why do we care if Sonic admits it? Isn't that, like, his problem?"

Perci nudged Knuckles in the ribs. "Because it's making everything worse. If Sonic just admits it, we can all move on and stop with this drama."

Sticks, still chewing on her stick, added, "Yeah, and if we don't help, this could be a plot. A conspiracy. Maybe Eggman's the one making Sonic act like this through mind control or alien worms."

Shadow rolled his eyes but pressed on. "The point is, we get him to confess. Then, maybe, just maybe, he'll stop acting like a jealous brat."

Tails, who had been quiet, nodded thoughtfully. "But how are we going to do that? Sonic's stubborn, and he's definitely not going to admit anything on his own."

A sly smirk crept onto Shadow's face. "Leave that part to me."

As they all gathered back together, Amy noticed the group's odd behavior. She crossed her arms, already sensing something was up. "Alright, what's going on? Why are you all whispering like you've got some kind of secret?"

Before anyone could answer, Shadow stepped forward, his voice dripping with faux sincerity. "Amy, we need to settle things. This bickering has gone on long enough. It's time Sonic and I apologized and shook hands, don't you think?"

Amy's eyes narrowed, clearly suspicious. "You're really going to apologize? Just like that?"

Shadow shrugged. "I can be reasonable."

Sonic, overhearing this, crossed his arms and glared at Shadow. "You're joking, right? You want to apologize? Fine. Let's get this over with."

Amy pushed the two of them forward, standing between them like a mediator. "You're both going to apologize and shake hands. No more fighting. I'm done with all this testosterone-fueled nonsense."

Sonic groaned but muttered, "Fine, whatever. I'll apologize. Shadow, I'm sorry for... well, for being a little, uh, aggressive."

Shadow smirked, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "And I'm sorry, Sonic, for making things difficult between us. And for always being right."

Amy gave Shadow a sharp look. "Shadow..."

He sighed dramatically. "Fine, fine. For being... competitive."

Amy nodded, satisfied. "Good. Now shake hands."

The two hedgehogs begrudgingly shook hands, but Shadow wasn't finished. He tightened his grip on Sonic's hand and leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper only Sonic could hear. "You know, Sonic, it's obvious why you've been acting like such an ass."

Sonic raised an eyebrow. "What the hell are you talking about?"

Shadow's smirk widened. "It's Amy. You're in love with her, but you're too scared to admit it."

Sonic's eyes widened in shock, and he immediately yanked his hand back, stumbling over his words. "Wha—what?! I'm not in love with Amy! That's ridiculous!"

Amy, who was watching from the side, looked between the two of them, confused by Sonic's sudden reaction. "What's going on?"

Shadow didn't miss a beat. "Sonic's just trying to cover up the fact that he's madly in love with you, Amy. He's been too much of a coward to say it."

Sonic's face turned beet red. "I—I am NOT! Shut the hell up, Shadow!"

But Shadow wasn't backing down. "Oh, really? Then why do you get so worked up every time someone even looks at Amy? Why do you care so much about what I do or say around her? It's obvious, Sonic."

Sonic opened his mouth to argue, but nothing came out. He stammered, his thoughts racing. Was Shadow actually right? Had all this jealousy been because he... liked Amy? No, that couldn't be it. Could it?

Amy's eyes widened as she began to put the pieces together. "Wait, Sonic... is that true? Do you... do you like me?"

Sonic's face went from red to pale in a matter of seconds. He glanced nervously at Amy, then at the others who were all staring at him expectantly. There was no way out.

"I... uh..." Sonic stuttered, feeling trapped. He shot a glare at Shadow, who was watching the whole thing with a victorious smirk on his face.

Finally, Sonic sighed, defeated. "Fine! Okay, yes! Maybe I do like Amy. Happy now?"

The group stood in stunned silence for a moment before Amy blinked in surprise, clearly not expecting the confession to actually happen. "Sonic... why didn't you just say something sooner?"

Sonic rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "I dunno... I guess I was just scared you didn't feel the same, or that it'd make things weird."

Amy smiled softly, stepping forward. "You really are clueless sometimes, Sonic." She lightly punched his arm. "Of course I like you too, you big dummy."

Shadow, watching from the sidelines, chuckled to himself. "Told you."

Sonic shot him a glare but couldn't help the small, relieved smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, yeah. Shut up."

As the tension finally began to ease, the group shared a rare moment of quiet. Sonic and Amy, still processing the unexpected turn of events, stood side by side, while Shadow wrapped an arm around Perci, pulling her close.

"Well, that was fun," Shadow said sarcastically, though there was a hint of satisfaction in his voice. He glanced at Sonic, smirking one last time. "Looks like I was right about something else too."

Sonic groaned, but this time it wasn't out of anger. Maybe, just maybe, Shadow wasn't the worst after all.
