As the movie droned on, Shadow's irritation only intensified. Sonic and Knuckles were relentless, throwing barbs back and forth, each more outrageous than the last.
"Seriously, Shadow," Sonic said, leaning back on the couch with a smug grin. "I never knew you were so whipped. It's kinda sad, man."
"Yeah," Knuckles chimed in, barely containing his laughter. "You're like a little lost puppy following Perci around. What happened to the ultimate badass? Did he get replaced by a fluffball?"
"Shut up!" Shadow growled, his grip on the soda can tightening as the fizz inside threatened to explode. "You have no idea what you're talking about."
Sticks, who had been rummaging through Shadow's things earlier, suddenly emerged with a random collection of items, waving them in the air like a trophy. "Hey, look what I found! Is this really your idea of a badass collection?" She held up a tiny plush butterfly and a bottle of lavender-scented body spray, giggling. "Wow, you really do have a soft side! What's next? A diary full of poetry?"
Shadow's face flushed with embarrassment and anger, and he could feel the pressure building inside him. It was one thing to tease him about being with Perci, but this was crossing the line.
"Okay, that's it!" Shadow snapped, his patience officially at its breaking point. "You three think this is funny, huh?"
Before anyone could react, he swiftly grabbed some rope from the nearby closet, his expression turning from annoyed to dangerously calm. "Let's see how you like being tied up."
Within moments, he had Sonic, Knuckles, and Sticks bound up on the couch, their protests muffled by the gags he'd stuffed in their mouths.
"Just a little lesson in respect," Shadow declared, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "Now, I don't want to hear another peep out of you three."
Amy and Tails watched wide-eyed, unsure whether to laugh or be horrified. Shadow's annoyance was palpable, and they could sense the tension in the room.
"Shadow, you can't just tie them up like that!" Amy protested, though a hint of amusement danced in her eyes. "It's not very—"
"—No, it's not," Tails quickly cut in, raising his hands in a calming gesture. "Let's not escalate this any further. I think they've learned their lesson."
Shadow turned to them, still grinning. "You're right, but I'm not done yet." He leaned over to Amy and Tails, lowering his voice. "If they get too loud again, you have my permission to just ignore them. Let me deal with it."
With that, he hoisted Perci up onto his shoulder effortlessly. "Come on, Butterfly. Let's get some rest."
"Wait, Shadow!" Amy called out as he carried Perci upstairs. "You can't just leave them like that!"
"Watch me," he shot back with a laugh, disappearing up the stairs with Perci in his arms.
As they settled into the cozy confines of his room, Shadow laid Perci gently on the bed, pulling the blankets up around her. The playful banter of Sonic, Knuckles, and Sticks faded into the background, replaced by the comforting sound of rain pattering against the window.
"Are you okay?" Perci asked, looking up at him with concern. "You really tied them up. That was... intense."
"Yeah, well, they had it coming," he replied, running a hand through his spiky hair, trying to shake off the residual anger. "I just wanted some peace."
"You don't have to let them get to you like that," she said softly, reaching for his hand. "You're amazing, Shady. You don't need to prove anything to them."
Shadow felt a warmth spread through him at her words. "Thanks, Butterfly. I just—sometimes they push my buttons too far."
"Can I be honest?" Perci asked, biting her lip. "That was kind of hot."
He raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Really?"
"Yeah! You were all commanding and... I don't know, it was just cool to see you stand up for yourself," she admitted, her cheeks flushing slightly.
"Maybe I should tie them up more often, then," he teased, leaning in closer.
Before he knew it, they were wrapped up in each other, the world outside forgotten. Meanwhile, Sonic, Knuckles, and Sticks were left downstairs, their eyes wide with disbelief as they contemplated their inevitable fate.
"Seriously, I think we pushed him too far," Sonic mumbled through his gag, glaring at Knuckles, who just shrugged helplessly.
"Next time, let's just stick to playing volleyball or something," Knuckles muttered, looking around at the mess they had created.
"Yeah, I'd rather take my chances with Eggman than deal with this," Sticks added, struggling against her bonds.
But in the quiet of Shadow's room, all was well. Shadow and Perci shared smiles and laughter, free from the chaos that reigned just a few floors below.
